Tomorrow the World Skate Oceania Artistic Championships and Pacific Cup are kicking off in New Plymouth. Assistant team coach Macarena Carrascosa will be there. After a career as a competitive artistic roller skater Macarena Carrascosa started her business, aptly named, Hey Macarena, in 2016. Zealandia and Taranaki Whanui ki te Upoko o te Ika have begun releasing freshwater bully into the Wellington ecosanctuary after collecting them using a traditional method. While Toitoi are common around New Zealand, but prior to 2023, they'd been completely lost from Zealandia. Whakaweku is a traditional Maori catching method using bundles of rarahu - bracken fern - that was tried as a collection method for this project. For many years now the after life batteries from electric vehicles have been a thorn in the side environmentally friendly image of those EVs.
