  • In this episode, we explore the incredible journey of Jimmy Smith, who is an extremely versatile & passionate cyclist. From growing up on the big island of Hawaii & relocating to the mainland as a teenager in Springfield, MO & spending summers in Colorado, where he had the tough choice of choosing to pursue BMX or baseball. After making the choice to go all in on BMX, Jimmy realized that he could build a career for himself on the bicycle & began to fully apply himself through competing where he quickly made a name for himself in the BMX industry after a handful of promising results as contests around the country. Jimmy's transition to mountain biking led him to win the IMBA National Enduro Series in 2017 & has allowed him to ride for top bike brands like Fuji, Specialized, & now Yeti Cycles. Not just a cyclist; Jimmy has full-on embraced content creation, which helped him gain more versatile support & sponsorships. He has helped produce unique content for some of the largest brands in cycling, while also starring in the content. As he's grown in his cycling career, his interest in other cycling disciplines has also grown to include gravel & cross country riding which showcases his newfound love for long endurance challenges.

    We had a blast sitting down with Jimmy as he shared his inspiring story, lessons learned, & advice for aspiring athletes. He's always had such a rad 'if you want it, go get it' attitude & it's really cool to learn more about what makes him tick & what drives him to achieve his goals.

  • In this episode, we had the pleasure of sitting down with the multifaceted creator Richard Krumm also known as Veesh. He’s has had a remarkable career as a professional BMX filmer & spent nearly a decade working full time for Cult BMX documenting riding & creating all time BMX videos which helped shape the brand & recently he’s decided to make a transition into his own creative endeavors. We explored Richard's early days growing up in Fullerton, CA & his journey into becoming a top level BMX cinematographer, where he skillfully captured moments on camera & edited the into videos that oozed culture. His lens showcased the dynamic world of BMX, leaving audiences captivated by the riders' skills, beauty & culture of BMX.

    Over the last year Veesh has established his latest project, YAWN media, a brand dedicated to producing visually appealing and engaging content. Through YAWN media, he’ll continue to push boundaries and explore new ways of storytelling, capturing moments and people’s unique personalities within them. During this conversation, Richard also shared his journey into music production, revealing how he seamlessly translated his creativity from the visual realm to the auditory.

    Now a professional angler & fishing guide based in the Roaring Fork Vally in Colorado, Shyanne considers the river her office; introducing people from around the world to the joy of fly fishing on Colorado's renowned Gold Medal rivers. As a female angler in a predominantly male industry, she has faced and conquered numerous obstacles, blazing a trail for future generations of women in fly fishing. Through her "Ladies On The Fly" clinics, she empowers women, children, and her community, inspiring them to embrace the sport. Her influence extends beyond her local area, as she organizes trips and events globally, encouraging aspiring anglers to pursue their passion.

  • On this Scared of Normal episode we were fortunate enough to sit down with Charlie Weisel, a seasoned traveler who has ridden his custom-built Harley-Davidson chopper over 265,000 miles across29 countries, and through all 48 contiguous United States. Charlie didn't grow up around motorcycles, but his passion for traveling and wheels led him to explore the world on his Harley. He's constantly modifying his motorcycle and has built a close relationship with it as he’s traveled the world.

    Charlie believes that the more remote and difficult the roads are, the greater the rewards & takes pride in not taking the easy way. From traveling across the remoteness of eastern Russia to relying on the kindness of strangers, he shares his experiences and insights into adventures on the road, the challenges, and the rewards of pushing through hard days.
