If you had to eat a pie of your struggles this holiday season, you'd probably pass. I don't know about you but I LOVE PIE! It's my favorite dessert to begin with and during the holidays it's offered more often then normal. However, if someone said would you like a slide of your struggle pie?! I would say NOOOOO!
In today's episode you will be prompted to write yourself a letter, 1 year from today. Write it without your current struggle to the version of you who isn't having to carry all of this weight.
If you write a letter to yourself and you would like to share it with me please email me at [email protected]

One o'clock, wallow in self-pity, I can't miss that again. This week, I hopped on Instagram and noticed that one of my favorite personal development gurus made a short video about wallowing. Now, I normally LOVE her stuff but something in me was triggered with this particular video. Isn't that the hard part of short form videos?? Ninety seconds isn't enough time to really cover the depth needed for these types of subjects anyways!
Today, I want you to think about your definition of wallow and are you using it to your advantage by building yourself back up post-divorce or during a difficult coparenting relationship, or are you wallowing in your version of STUCK?
I had a dear friend point out to me that there's just one letter difference in WALLOW and ALLOW. How do you look at this in your life?

Where do I begin?
I remember it like it was yesterday, this incredibly scary moment in my life where my family and my marriage simultaneously fell apart. I was 28, successful and single parenting, which wasn't the plan. Though I didn't have financial struggle, at least like some of you have, I wore the #strugglingsingleparent label in every other regard. I remember those initial moments feeling like an elephant was crushing me under the weight of his enormous foot. I didn't want to be a single mom, I didn't want to live alone, I didn't want to financially provide for the three of us (even though I had provided for the four of us prior).
It felt like a tall mountain to climb, a hike towards resiliency, confidence, courage, empowerment and the ability to be unrattled. The destination felt impossible but I knew that I would continue to be knocked down if I didn't stomp towards those positive labels and personality traits that I was seeking.
Welcome to this new podcast. If you're a new single mom or a seasoned one, you know and understand just how difficult this journey can be. Though we have similar problems, it seems that many of us are making a go of this alone. I hope you'll shoot me a message and connect at [email protected]. I'd love to hear a bit of your story and some of the challenges you're facing as a single parent.
I'm cheering for you!
