This year, the annual celebration of Europe’s pop landscape that is the Eurovision song contest is taking place in the UK city of Liverpool, who are hosting on behalf of last year’s winners Ukraine.
So, what does it mean for Liverpool to have this honour - and how much work has gone in to get the city ready?

Joining them are Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston, two of the original members of Bucks Fizz, who won Eurovision in 1981 with Making Your Mind Up, and Carrie Grant, who represented the UK at the song contest in 1983 as part of the pop group Sweet Dreams.
