We were shocked from our poll results on Instagram at how many people answered that they have not updated their websites in over 5 years!
Here are the benefits of updating your website every couple of years:
1. It's a chance to update your stats, testimonials, and language to better speak to your ideal clients.2. As we grow in business, our product and services may evolve with us. Make sure that the information and pricing on your website is up to date!
3. As your business evolves, most likely your branding will too. Make sure that your website matches all of your current marketing materials so that you don't confuse your customers!

Some of the actions that people have toward their businesses are like they are playing the lottery. They try different things to see what will stick, without putting in true effort. But if you don't put in the work...nothing will stick!
Every small action into your business is like a deposit into an investment account. And overtime, it will accumulate compound interest. If you keep depositing meaningful actions into your business everyday...it could pay dividends beyond your wildest imagination!

When people first get into entrepreneurship, they have these big goals and dreams. While it is so important to have something to strive for...often times people start focusing too much on the OUTCOME that could potentially happen, that they don't pay attention to the INPUT they need to focus on to reach their goals or dreams.
In today's episode, Mariya Bentz chats about how we need to plant and water certain seeds in the beginning of our business. Seeds are the actions that you take. In many of the examples, these small actions don't require much effort. But they will go a long way. You reap what you sow.

2020 has been an interesting year for everyone...to say the least.
In business, it has been tremendous year of growth in all aspects. We've had some really high highs, and some really low lows. I am grateful for all of it because I have learned SO MUCH along the way about growing as a leader, where I want to take the business, what is important/versus what is not, what is a MUST HAVE on contracts (lol) etc.
I have 7 main lessons that I have learned over the year:
1. You don't have to solve all of the problems. You can hire someone out to help solve an issue to save your sanity. It's WELL WORTH THE MONEY.2. Take weekends off. Have quiet time in the morning. Don't check emails in the evening. Work will always be there...but your body needs you to recharge your battery so you can operate the best that you can in your business and personal life.
3. Streamline all of your processes within your team and client structure. Make sure your contracts are EXTREMELY detailed of what is included versus what is not to avoid "scope creep."
4. NO MORE DISCOUNTS. I hate to say it but the those who ask for discounts tend to be a tad bit harder to work with.
5. Build a strong team around you that can be your support system if you ever need to step back for a season. As a business owner you hire people to make your life easier.
6. Don't overbook yourself. Schedule up to 3 main tasks per day to have time for the things that come up. Because if you're the owner of a business...fires tend to come up that you have to put out on the spot.
7. If you are trying to grow an agency, don't take on small $200-$300 projects. They end up being non-profitable and COULD cause you an equal amount of stress as a big project.

Carolyn Lowe founded ROI Swift in 2015 to help emerging consumer brands get expert help in Amazon, Paid Ads for Facebook/Instagram, and Paid Search. So many smaller businesses were being taken advantage of by paying agencies big dollars for no results, and Carolyn thought that was wrong. Her team grew an apparel and footwear company from $0-12M in 18 months through paid Facebook and Instagram ads. Carolyn’s goal is to help 1000 brands grow profitably. So far, they have helped 102, so she is 898 away from retirement! Fun facts about Carolyn: She once won $10,000 on the radio and wished she saved it to invest in Google or Amazon two decades later. After leaving Dell, she founded ROI Swift to follow her passion of helping emerging businesses grow. She is the mother of two children and has her pilot’s license, though no time to actually fly anymore.
