In this episode, I’m excited to share a story that hit close to home, straight from my seven-year-old son, Jake. As we were rushing around getting ready for school, I gave him a little pep talk, saying, “You got this!” But to my surprise, he looked at me and said, “Mama, I don’t got this.”
His honesty was a wake-up call about how important it is to ask for help when we need it—something we, as adults, often struggle with. That moment inspired me to reflect on how we, too, can be more open and honest about when we’re feeling overwhelmed.
Today, I’ll explore the strategies I’ve learned from my son’s openness and how they can apply to all of us. I’ll talk about how we can better recognize when we need support, the importance of asking for help early, and how to empower ourselves and others through honest communication.
If you’ve ever felt like you “don’t got this,” this episode is for you!
Here are the highlights:
(1:04) Lessons from a Seven-Year-Old's Perspective
(4:45) The Importance of Asking for Help
(5:19) Strategies for Asking for Help
