Do you eat as soon as you feel an uncomfortable emotion? Or do you feel it for awhile, but then decide you’re done with feeling and you eat to distract from it, numb it, or avoid it?
Now imagine that you were able to just feel the emotion, for as long as it was there, without eating. If you did that, overeating and bingeing for emotional reasons wouldn’t happen. So that’s what I’m going to help you to do in this episode. When you’re reacting, you’re just doing what you’re feeling driven to do without much thought. But when you pause, you’re thinking about what you’re going to do and you’re actually giving yourself more of a choice about what you’re going to do.

Are you lacking fulfilling connection in your life? I was, during the years when I was binge eating. Sure I did have some but it wasn’t enough. And when I was craving it, too often, I’d eat food instead of connecting with people. I used food to try and fix my loneliness instead of giving myself what I was really needing.
Although I’m still not great at connecting as much as I’d like to, I’ve gotten a lot better. I’ve also gotten better at not letting any loneliness I do feel lead me into a binge.

When you’re deciding to eat, or deciding to eat more, what are you thinking about? How good it will taste? How pleasurable it will be? How good you will feel? That’s all fine to think about but, is that all that will happen if you eat?
For many people, when they’re deciding to eat, they’re only telling themselves about what will happen at first, a.k.a. the beginning of the story. But what about what will happen at the end? The end matters, it’s coming, and if it’s likely not going to turn out well, you need to be thinking about that. You need to tell yourself the whole story of eating that food or of eating more, all the way until the end.
In this episode, I’m going in depth about why it’s so important that you’re telling yourself the whole story and what can happen if you don’t. This is going to be a really helpful tool for you to use so listen in to learn about it and how to use it.

Do you panic when you feel an urge to binge? If you do, you’re making it really challenging for you to not give in to that urge. Panic is not going to help you get through an urge, it’s more likely that you’ll default to eating when you panic. So in this episode, I’m going to help you to not panic when feeling an urge.

Kandace was like so many people who binge eat.
She felt like she was out of control and couldn’t stop herself from eating so much, she believed that there was something wrong with her and that this was just how she would be forever, and her excessive eating negatively impacted herself and her life in so many ways.
For years, she tried diet after diet to try and get herself to eat better but it never worked.
It wasn’t until she worked on her mind that everything changed for her.
Now, she thinks like such a different person. She thinks differently about herself, her body, food, and because she does, her relationship with them has changed immensely.
She is a such different person now compared to who she was last year when she began The Stop Binge Eating Program.
And when you listen to today’s episode,you’re going to hear all about it. You’re going to hear about her first experience with Weight Watchers, what it was like for her when she was bingeing, what was the most impactful thing she did that stopped her binge eating, and what she and her life are like now.
