Thank you for tuning in these past months; we seem to have hit the end of the season and will be going into hiatus

This month we talk about ontology: the fundamental nature of existence. With a twist! My starting point for this discussion is the age old question, "Why is there something instead of nothing?" and ends with a nice bow on our discussion regarding intersubjectivity. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this is a bit of a messy one, but I certainly had fun making it.

This month we tackle the question of reality! We talk about it so confidently, but rarely discuss what we mean. Almost daily this colloquial notion of reality becomes more unreliable as certain parties make a battleground over the notion of real. It's important to take a step back and look at the aspects which make up reality, namely immersion, consistency, and authenticity. With this in mind, we can interrogate 'reality' more deeply than our usual usage of the word might imply.

This month we discuss interpretation as a fundamental force in our existence. Raw data is essentially meaningless, as it cannot be incorporated into our understanding of the world without interpretation. The easiest place to see this is within both the creation and consumption of art, in which meaning is manifested and expanded by the interpretive acts of the creator and audience. More existentially, interpretation mediates our relationship to the world around us, both subjectively and intersubjectively.

In this episode, we take the sceptic/subjectivist take to its logical conclusion and ask: if everything can be doubted, where do we go from here? And if we accept nothing for granted, is the best next move creating our own understanding?

A discussion around intersubjectivity, that being the facsimile of objectivity we create by noting the consistencies observed between subjective viewpoints.

We start of with the idea of the self, defined from a subjective standpoint. Our conversation seeks to establish our epistemic limits, find what lies at the base of our notion of self, and apply these ideas in a practical manner.
