Leslie was married for over 2 decades to an emotionally abusive man. Hear how she began to recognize what she was experiencing as abuse, how her church abandoned her, what it was like for her children, how she began to set boundaries and speak up for herself, how she rediscovered her worth and how she healed through therapy and her faith.
Originally from the suburbs of Los Angeles, Leslie and her family moved to Montana in 2013. But well before that, she was in an ongoing affair with words. Some encouragement from teachers in her childhood led her to immerse herself in story and writing ever since. The story she can't stop telling is how God saw her, pursued her, and held her through a difficult marriage and then divorce.
She writes most often about how knowing our identity as Beloved changes everything. She loves any time she gets with her two teenagers, reading all the books, writing, mentoring, and speaking to women, eating good food, and vintage shopping. She always has a mug of tea cooling in a room she's no longer in, and since moving to Montana, her relationship with winter needs prayer.
Her Instagram is @leslie.trovato and she writes a free, bi-monthly newsletter called Small Affairs, where she shares more of her story and writes about living defined by our Belovedness in every day affairs. -
Do you ever feel like you aren't enough? Worthless? Lonely?

Do you long to feel authentic and loveable?

"Dr. Flanagan is known to millions for the letters he writes to his children and shares on his blog. Loveable is written to the little one in each of us, who is all too ready to be reminded: you are enough, you are not alone, and you matter. In Loveable, Dr. Flanagan reveals the core insight gleaned from his years of clinical work: you are here for a reason, yet you cannot truly awaken to it until you have first embraced your truest, worthiest self and then allowed yourself to be truly embraced by others.
True Companions shows that we each have within ourselves, exactly the way we are, what we need to cultivate the life-long relationships we are longing for. Whether you are focused on your marriage, your parenting, your friendships, or another important relationship, here you will learn how growing in self-knowledge leads the way to growing in your love for God and others. Discover how you can put your loneliness to work for you in your relationships, rather than against you. Learn how your psychological and emotional defenses can help you to connect more vulnerably rather than protect so defensively. Immerse yourself in the one perspective that assures you will prioritize your companions now the way you will one day wish you had."For more information on Dr. Kelly you can go to www.drkellyflanagan.com.

Parents who are emotionally immature often don't notice their children’s inner experiences, they discount feelings, and they fear emotional intimacy. The emotional loneliness that you may feel is the understandable result of growing up without sufficient empathy from your primary care givers. We all have a need to share our inner experience. We all have a need for genuine emotional connection. Nothing hurts the spirit more than being around someone who won't engage with us emotionally. Listen to understand more about your upbringing and how it may be effecting you today and what you can do to heal.
