Donna Gentile, a former prostitute who later became an informant exposing police corruption, challenged the treatment she received from San Diego police officers. Sadly, she was murdered under mysterious circumstances. The investigation into her death began in June 1985, led by the San Diego Sheriff's Department, but her killer remains unidentified to this day.

One day when John didn't show up to a crucial Tech Coast Angels (TCA) meeting, a friend found John dead in how own bed of his La Jolla apartment. Who would kill John and why would anyone want him dead? -

On this episode of "Tru Crym Podcast", we discuss the case of Jason Harper. Jason and Julie Harper lived in Carlsbad with their 3 children. In August of 2012, the Carlsbad police received a call from an attorney to do a wellness check on the Harper residence. Jason was found shot dead in his bedroom, but Julie and the kids were not home.

On July 18th, 1984, James Huberty kissed his wife goodbye, when she asked him where he was going he responded with "hunting for humans." James walked into a McDonald's restaurant in San Ysidro, California and started his killing spree. After 77 minutes, 21 people were killed and another 19 were wounded. It was the worst case of mass murder at the time.

On this episode of "Tru Crym Podcast" Ranete discusses the Tatyana Remley case. Tatyana was arrested on August 2nd, 2023 at a San Diego, California Starbucks after a $2M murder-for-hire plot against her estranged husband.
The day before Tatyana's arrest, Mark (Tatyana's estranged husband) was seen driving his black Ferrari at a high speed to his burned down Del Mar mansion, before knocking on a neighbor's door claiming to be suffering from a seizure. The neighbor phoned 911 and an ambulance rushed Mark to a hospital. Since being taken by ambulance, Mark's whereabouts are unknown.
Tatyana is currently being held without bail at the Las Colinas Detention Facility. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges and will be in court for a preliminary hearing on Nov.16th, 2023.

On this episode of "Tru Crym Podcast" we discuss the case of Leonard Lake and Charles Ng. In 1985, a minimal theft investigation led police to the cabin in the remote foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains of Leonard Lake and Charles Ng. When police investigate the 'Torture Cabin' they could never have imagined what they would find inside.
The duo kidnapped, tortured and murdered between 11-25 people in their "survivalist" bunker. Investigators found 40 pounds of charred human remains along with video tapes and a 250 page journal.

Sid Vicious, of the punk band The Sex Pistols and his girlfriend Nancy Spungen had such a turbulent love story that ended in tragedy for the both of them. The couple bonded over drugs and on the morning of October 12, 1978, 20 year old Nancy was found stabbed to death inside Manhattan's Chelsea Hotel. Sid was charged with Nancy's murder but died of an overdose while out on bail before his trial even began.

Victor and Vegas met while they both were in the navy. They dated for a short while but broke up because Vegas was incredibly jealous. Vegas began stalking and harassing Victor until she shot Victor in his Imperial Beach apartment.

On episode 25 of Tru Crym Podcast, Ranete sits down with Oz Cruz for the second time (you can hear Oz on episode 10) to discuss the Laura Arroyo case. Oz has worked as a local homicide detective and now currently works in the stalking unit and is the supervising investigator of the gang prosecution unit. Oz has over 2 decades of experience working in major case investigations in the following fields: Homicide, Robberies, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Sex Crimes and Elder Abuse.
On June 19th 1991, 9-year-old Laura Arroyo disappeared after answering a knock at the front door of her family's home. She was found murdered the following day. The case went cold for 12 years until the cold case squad reopened the case, and thanks to DNA advancements their suspect was caught.

On episode 25 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the Canadian cult known as The Ant Hill Kids. Although its quite common for cults to be brutal, the things that the cult leader Roch Theriault inflicted onto his followers is something out of a horror movie. Their commune was located in an isolated, remote community in rural Quebec. On the surface, the Ant Hill Kids were just another group of hippies that lived an isolated, self sufficient life. But the terrifying life inside the doomsday cult was far more disturbing.

On episode 23 of Tru Crym Podcast, we discuss the Armin Meiwes case. Armin is a German computer technician that placed an ad in a cannibalism chat room, searching for someone that was willing to be eaten. Surprisingly, he received a response from a man named Bernd Brandes. The entire case sparked a huge debate because eating a consenting person isn't illegal in Germany. He eventually was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. Now Armin is vegetarian.

Mark was one of the most prominent pro skateboarders of his time. He was sponsored by Vision Skateboards, was in a Tom Petty music video, and even appeared on MTV.
