Caroline Greene is a recovering lawyer, chronic overachiever and passionate truth-teller who loves helping women build whole lives that truly matter to them.
Before she became a life and business coach, she was a stay-at-home mom of my two beautiful girls. And before that, she was a big-law litigator and former prosecutor. Needless to say, as a graduate of Yale University and the University of Virginia School of Law, she meant it when she said," I know what it feels like to get stuck into someone else’s definition of success."
Most of her life was spent doing the next “right” thing. But then she hit a point when “right” wasn’t enough anymore. Caroline wanted more. Not more money or more fame or more prestige. But that intangible more. More joy. More laughter. More connection. More meaning. And She's been working on building a life that truly matters to her ever since. Today's show we will learn how to keep going, keep learning and keep facing our fears with humility, compassion, and curiosity. On this podcast, we are going to redefine success in the way that’s right for us.
We discussed:
Having a "Top Card" priority and serving it well
Disconnecting from external sources of success and reaching from within
Sell first then build
Outsourcing at homeIf you haven’t already, check out this podcast episode where we give you action advice on how to learn to have a healthy mindset around success!

What Does S.M.A.R.T.E.R. really mean?
SMARTER is an acronym that you can use to guide your goal setting.To make sure your goals are clear and reachable, each one should be:
* Specific
* Meaningful
* Achievable
* Relevant
* Time bound
* Evaluated
* ReviewedPerhaps you've always dreamed of traveling around the world, but it's never happened. Maybe you tell yourself it's because you don't have the time or the money, and you'll think about it next year.
Try setting SMARTER goals to help make your travel plans specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. You might find that the real reason you haven't traveled is because your plans have been too vague or unrealistic. Think about how you can adjust your vision and rephrase it as a SMARTER goal, so that you can make your dream come true. Listen to today's show on how you can create clear, attainable and meaningful goals, and develop the motivation, action plan, and support needed to achieve them.

#1 The Secrets to the Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth Hardcover – February 15, 2005
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind reveals the missing link between wanting success and achieving it!Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get rich easily, while others are destined for a life of financial struggle? The shocking answer is: None of the above!
In his groundbreaking Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, T. Harv Eker states: "Give me five minutes, and I can predict your financial future for the rest of your life!" We all have a personal money blueprint ingrained in our subconscious minds, and it is this blueprint, more than anything, that will determine our financial lives. You can know everything about marketing, sales, negotiations, stocks, real estate, and the world of finance, but if your money blueprint is not set for a high level of success, you will never have a lot of money—and if somehow you do, you will most likely lose it! Thirty years after women became 50 percent of the college graduates in the United States, men still hold the vast majority of leadership positions in government and industry. This means that women’s voices are still not heard equally in the decisions that most affect our lives. In Lean In, Sheryl Sandberg examines why women’s progress in achieving leadership roles has stalled, explains the root causes, and offers compelling, commonsense solutions that can empower women to achieve their full potential.
Sandberg is the chief operating officer of Facebook and is ranked on Fortune’s list of the 50 Most Powerful Women in Business and as one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in the World. In 2010, she gave an electrifying TEDTalk in which she described how women unintentionally hold themselves back in their careers. As moms of young kids, we're always looking for better solutions to common problems. A few summers back, 2 moms were swimming with their daughters and realized what a pain it was to remove a wet one-piece bathing suit during those diaper changes or "I've gotta go!" moments. It was even harder to get the wet bathing suit back on. They knew there must be an easier way, but after months of researching, they couldn't find one. So we decided to create their own "better way."
They set out to evolve the one-piece bathing suit into a suit that could open and close with ease. They worked tirelessly cutting up old bathing suits, sewing them back together, creating their own patterns, and ultimately perfecting our product.
In late 2014, FASTEN™ was created. As parents, we never settle for anything less than the best for our children. And when they couldn't find the best, they created it. They are passionate about their swimwear, and hope you will be too.
Here's what we talked about:
1. Never giving up on your idea
2. Never taking no for an answer
3. Working with other mothers makes life easier
4. When it's time to get a lawyer
If you haven’t already done so, check out this podcast episode with the Fasten Moms, as they share their story of success!Links:

A little more time for Video marketing that is that can all be created in a small amount of time with these tips...Tip #1 The Shorter the Better
The less you say, the more likely people are to remember. Video is an overview or a hook to get people to take the next step. Did you know that after After 7 seconds people been to fade. If you are doing a promo or commercial. Never over 60 seconds. I like 30 even better. The shorter the video is, the less time it takes to complete every other aspect of the whole entire process is. Writing, filming, editing, less graphics etc.
Tip #2 Focus on 4 simple things:
- The problem
- The solution
- How it works
- A call to actionTip #3 Do a shot list to organize your shots/thoughts before you roll the camera.
Tip #4 Your video doesn't have to be a big production. Remember you are not competing with HBO. It's engaging and personal and from the heart. Authenticity at it's best. Just be you, in your clothes, in a comfortable setting. And just get your point across.
Tip #5 Use equipment that you are comfortable with.
An iPhone is fine! Use a soft light in your home. Make sure your sound is clear and go!Tip #6 Batch the process. If you have 3 videos to create, do it all at the same time. Or parts of the process at the same time. For example, write all the scripts in one sitting. Shoot all the videos in one morning. Keep it together and your work flow will be efficient.
Tip #7 Recap on the 50 tips! Find solutions in your business to free up time....or take something out of your schedule that isn't as effective for scaling your business and insert video marketing.
FYI-I have these tips on a nice little infographic with all the notes and details for you... just go to caseydestefano.com/7VideoTips and will be sent to your inbox asap!
