Also, at the very end, is the interview with Brian Rathbone from the last episode. Audio was crap in the last episode, so thought I'd give y'all another chance.

Yes, there is a new episode out!
There's always so much enthusiasm when releasing a new episode since they are so few and far between. Hope you dig this episode!
Today I bring you an interview I did with the highly talented writer, Patrick E. McLean. Not only does he write incredible novels (see show notes) but he's done some pretty big copywriting for a few brands you may have heard of. Writing ain't all about novels and short stories, y'all!
So, kick back and relax and get ready for a fun interview!
Enjoy!

Welcome back, y'all!
It's time for episode #60! Woo hoo!
In this episode, I attempt to interview myself. No, seriously. It's all part of a new segment I'll be including in Writing In Suburbia twice a month. I'll be interviewing writers and asking them two questions: Why do you write? and, What was, or still is, the hardest part about being a writer?
I've already got some great interviews recorded!
But I thought it would be fun to break y'all in with an interview of myself. Fun? Sure. Funny? Yeah, I crack myself up.
So, have a listen and enjoy!
Cheers!

Happy New Year, y'all!
In this episode I switch things up a little: I chose theme music! I have also added show notes! Check 'em out.
I chat about the ups and downs of income as a pro writer and my fear of what 2018 could be like if there aren't more ups. I also chat about a certain PLAGIARIST in our midst who has stolen Roak: Galactic Bounty Hunter and tried to make it his own. Full on prose theft, y'all. The guy is a scumbag. Pure and simple.
So, have a listen as I lay out some fears and some loathings.
Cheers!

The Holiday season is upon us! And with that comes stress.
Now, I don't tend to get stressed out around Holiday time because I have the soothing balms of Xmas music coupled with making Chex Mix. But, that doesn't mean I don't have other stresses!
So, in this episode I discuss the stresses I feel as a professional writer and how 2017 hasn't exactly been a great year. Not only do I chat about my stresses, I also chat about how I cope with all the stress! Solutions! Huzzah!
Have a listen and also have a Happy Holiday and Happy New Year!
Cheers!

Welcome back to another episode of Writing In Suburbia.
In this episode I chat about where I'm at in my career and where I want to be. I also touch on where I thought I'd be. A lot of professional reflection and fortune telling going on. Why? It's my birthday. So there's that...
Enjoy!

Welcome back to another episode of Writing In Suburbia!
This episode I talk a lot about being a writer and having political opinions. It's something on people's minds right now. I also talk about how to work with others that may not subscribe to your beliefs.
It's a hard topic and I think I handled it well. You be the judge.
Enjoy!

It's Dragon*Con time!
In this episode I chat about getting prepared for the massive con that is Dragon*Con. 80,000+ folks will be in downtown Atlanta, so prepping is a good idea. I talk about how to survive once you are there and also to know your agenda and motivations if you are going as a professional.
It's gonna be a blast! Hope to see some of you at Dragon*Con!
Enjoy!

Hello!
Another episode of Writing In Suburbia is in the can. Not the toilet can, the audio tape can. Which doesn't really exist since this is all digital. I HAVE CONFUSED MYSELF!
Speaking of confusion, this episode is all about how to ignore all the crazy writing advice on the internet that insists you are doing it wrong. You aren't. Have a listen and you'll hear my many rants and tangents on this subject.
Hope y'all enjoy!

I'm back! It's been a while since the last episode, but life is life, right?
This episode I chat a little about my attempts to build my audience more. I'm still finding my footing on that, so we get to stumble together on this one.
Enjoy!

This week's (month's?) episode is all about how aspiring (hate that word) writers make excuses not to do the work. Which is total BS. I talk about how you have complete power and control over where, when, and how you write, so shut up with the excuses!
I also talk about my pending gallbladder surgery. Fun!
Enjoy!

It's March and time for another episode of Writing In Suburbia!
In this episode I talk about transitions. Whether transitioning to a new genre, new readership, or a whole new format, transition happens, y'all.
Enjoy!

Welcome back to another episode of Writing In Suburbia. Episode #50! Woo Hoo!
In this episode I talk about how to stay motivated in the face of this hell that our country and world has become. I go into great detail, and rant quite a bit, about how hard it is to keep writing escapist fiction. I also talk about how escapist fiction is what folks are looking for.
Did I mention the rant?
Enjoy the episode.
Cheers!

Yep, you read that right. This is a bonus episode. I got to join Paul E. Cooley and John Mierau for a nice chat about what it means to be a writer in this day and age. We all came up together in the podcast fiction world and have each taken a different path towards becoming full time writers. It is certainly worth a listen!

Finally! Another episode of Writing In Suburbia is up.
In this episode I talk about how in order to be successful in the publishing biz you have to learn to adapt. Not so much compromise, as just learn to go with the flow and tweak your outlook to be included in that flow. I touch on a lot of topics in this episode, so it's not one to miss.
Enjoy!
