Da en gravid kvinde sad på anklagebænken efter at have skudt sin mand foran deres lille søn, hævdede hun, at drabet var sket i selvforsvar. Hun blev frikendt, men 30 år senere blev hun anholdt igen efter fundet af to ilde tilredte lig. If a doctor is fired from a hospital, the hospital should report it immediately. That’s how problem doctors are prevented from getting hired elsewhere. But the places where Dr. Duntsch operated failed to report him to the proper authorities. If they had, maybe Duntsch’s path of destruction would have been stopped much sooner.

Chris Duntsch was a promising medical student, with a bright future ahead of him. The friends who knew him were shocked at the doctor he would later become. Not Chris, they said. Det var en kold vintermorgen i januar på Vestegnen. En mand var tidligt oppe for at lufte sin hund. Den løb rundt uden snor på og undersøgte den frosne og sneklædte jord, da den pludselig standsede og markerede. Der lå noget i krattet ved siden af vejen. Bagefter taler vi om en rengøringsassistent, som låste sig ind i et omklædningsrum i en kælder på et hospital en tidlig morgen i august og straks blev mødt at et grufuldt syn.

Det var sent om natten, og der var ikke flere pladser på den oplyste del af parkeringspladsen, så hun måtte holde længere væk fra sin opgang, end hun gerne ville. I det hun vendte sig mod passagersædet for at samle sine ting og gøre klar til at forlade bilen, blev døren ved siden af hende åbnet udefra. Bagefter skal vi til karneval i København, hvor en ung mand havde et våben med sig, som han ikke tøvede med at bruge i mængden af feststemte og sambadansende folk. Men det var kun begyndelsen for ham.
