  • Leah Abramson (she/her/hers) is an open-hearted soul, Bay Area native, aspiring editorial model, currently located in the Los Angeles community and recent graduate from UCLA with a degree in Gender Studies. Leah comes from a multi-racial background from Russia, Lithuania, Sierra Leone and parts of India. As an aspiring model, diversity coordinator, fashion fanatic, dancer and music lover, Leah is currently detoxing from the madness of her long academic career in hopes to continue her spiritual journey to guide her towards a genuine and creative career path ahead.

    In this episode, Leah talks about how she relates to her different ethnic identities in terms of beauty. We hear what it was like growing up in the Bay Area as a mixed race human with freckles. Leah also shares some of the important lessons she has learned about beauty from a gender studies lens. Tamsin asks Paige to weigh in on the culture around race in Hawai'i.

  • Mangda Sengvanhpheng is an artist, healing practitioner, and the Founder of BACII. Her life’s work is guided by her Laotian last name, which means “the light of the full moon.” She explores ways of illuminating our fears and bridging the duality of living and dying through her platform, BACII. Additionally, she has been immersed in the mystical and healing arts for over 15 years, and is currently enrolled in New York Zen Center’s Contemplative Care program. 

    In the episode, Mangda talks about her work as a "death doula" and what it was like growing up mixed-race and multiple cultural in a primarily white-dominant neighborhood. She shares about how her mother's own relationship to beauty had an impact on her ideas of beauty, as well as what she believes is on the other side of death.  Tamsin draws a comparison between death in the Western world and Eastern Asian Medicine, and Paige shares her perspective on after-life consciousness.

  • Claudia Soto is a London-born, Melbourne-based, Spanish/Chilean yoga and pilates teacher and the creator of Cloud Sways — a space to encourage people to move their bodies for all reasons excluding societal pressures and to dismantle the false narrative that size and abilities are a reflection of health. 

    In the episode, Claudia shares about how her mother's battle with cancer and ongoing struggle with weight and body image, catalyzed her work as a yoga and pilates instructor.  She talks about her involvement with the youth inside of the disability sector, and shares a moment as a child at recess that really made an imprint on her body awareness. Paige also opens up about her background as a young gymnast and how this negatively impacted her sense of physical self-worth, while Tamsin expresses that her body growing up never felt like her own.

  • Jennifer Norman is a Korean-American adoptee, single mom, and the Founder & Chief Human Officer of The Human Beauty Movement (The HBM), a Certified B Corporation on a mission to instill every human with the beauty of self-love.   • Sunaina Madhav Dasi is a multidimensional human that holds many identities. They immigrated from Bangalore, India in 1996 and identify as a mixed race person (Indo-Aryan and Dravidian) who speaks Tamil as their mother-tongue. Their yoga practice is deeply rooted in Hinduism, Bhakti and social justice in which they create a more community-centered world that focuses on individual healing by embracing one's unique purpose. They believe that the answer is already within us when we choose self-love, accountability and awareness. 

    In the episode, we talk to Sunaina about their heritage and how it has directly impacted their identity. We also discuss body hair as self-love and self-expression, as well as what it means to give someone's heart to The Divine. Sunaina shares about a very powerful experience they had during a yoga practice, and how they aim to choose simplicity everyday. This episode is truly conscious expanding!

  • Kyle Yoshioka is the Editor and Content Manager of Influential Point. They identify as a biracial, nonbinary, and neurodivergent queer person. This has given them an intimate understanding of how interpersonal, intergenerational, and intercultural factors influence health. Their ultimate goal is to help you both honor and detangle the ways in which you have adapted to a weird and sometimes vicious world.
