In this episode, I dive into the critical topic of parental stress and its profound impact on both individuals and families. Drawing attention to the U.S. Surgeon General's recent statement, I discuss why parental stress is recognized as a significant public health issue.

I've been there—feeling overwhelmed and constantly comparing myself to other moms online, which only fueled my stress and sense of inadequacy. Through my own experiences, I’ve learned the importance of prioritizing self-care and building a strong support network. Letting go of the unrealistic pursuit of perfection and instead embracing what truly works for your family is key to finding peace and joy in parenting.

In this episode, I encourage open conversations about the real challenges we face and advocate for a much-needed cultural shift that values and supports parents, recognizing the vital role we play in society.

  • Hey mamas! In this episode, I'm diving into something close to my heart: the importance of modeling healthy relationships and communication for our little ones.

From the moment they're born, our kid are like sponges, soaking up everything they see and hear. Did you know that even newborns can mimic our facial expressions and gestures? It's wild! As parents, we have this amazing opportunity to shape their future interactions by intentionally modeling healthy communication, emotional regulation, and problem-solving. By doing this, we're helping them develop essential skills for effective communication and better social interactions.

I'll be sharing insights on how conflict resolution and repair in our relationships can positively impact our children's emotional intelligence and their ability to manage their own conflicts. Let's get into how we can invest in our children's futures by showing them what strong, loving relationships look like!

  • Recently, I was working with a few new parents who were feeling overwhelmed by the disconnect and misunderstandings that often arise when a new baby enters the picture. It’s incredibly easy to get caught up in the stories we tell ourselves—stories based on our fears, assumptions, and limited perspectives.

The thing is… those stories might not be true.

    - They might make you feel unwanted or unloved.

    - They might make you doubt your partner’s commitment.

    - They might make you avoid important conversations and misunderstand each other's actions.

Not every story we tell ourselves accurately reflects our partner's feelings or intentions.

The more we let these false narratives guide our feelings and reactions, the more complicated our relationships become—and the worse off we are as partners and parents.

In today’s episode of the Better Relationships After Baby podcast, we’re diving into “The Story I’m Telling Myself.” We’ll explore how these stories form, how they impact our relationships, and practical steps to align our narratives with reality.

    YOU’LL LEARN:

    - Why we often live in different narratives than our partners

    - How these mismatched stories can build unnecessary resentment and negative feelings

    - Practical tools to start conversations with clarity and align on values

    - Real-life examples of how these narratives play out and how to address them

Join me as we uncover the stories we tell ourselves and learn how to create a more honest, connected, and understanding relationship.
