  • Welcome back, Turtle Fans!

In this week's pod we take a closer look at the last episode in the Nickelodeon Usagi arc, "Kagayake! Kintaro". According to Google translate, "kagayake" means "shine" in Japanese. The Turtles and Usagi traverse some treacherous landscapes, chase cats in the snow (kind of), and have one last showdown with the sinister Jei. Does Kintaro end up shining? You'll have to listen to find out! I also talk about Turtle toys, IDW's latest achievement with TMNT #73, and the TMNT x Pintrill collaboration pins. Hit play and listen up!

  • Welcome back TMNT Fans!

On this week's episode I break down "Osoroshi no Tabi", the second episode in the Samurai Turtles arc featuring Usagi Yojimbo. The Turtles encounter some wacky forest spirits, come face to face with a spider demon, and have some serious nightmares. There's also some TMNT toy talk as I discuss Turtles toys I'm excited about right now, and I also announce my Instagram contest! Check it out!

    Thanks!

BooyakaShow! is officially BACK IN ACTION with this episode, and it is a good one! In "Yojimbo", the Turtles are transported to another dimension to team up with none other than the long-eared, masterless samurai Usagi Yojimbo. Usagi and the Turtles are on a mission to help a special child get back to his temple, but their journey is filled with bandits, brainwashing, and bratty kids. I'd been waiting a while for this arc to kick off and now I can't wait to talk about it. Listen and enjoy!

  • What's up Turtle Fans? Did you miss the show?

Well I'm back! Zach here, and BYS is making a return to the podcast world with this latest episode. I talk about why the show disappeared and why I've jumped back behind the mic. On top of that, I give you guys a mini recap of my SDCC 2017 experience and talk about some Turtle toys that I'm hyped on. Forgive me for the "roughness" of this episode. It's been a while since I've recorded and edited anything, so I'm working on getting my mojo back. This episode is a bit all over the place, but I'll sharpen up as we go along. Jump back on the BooyakaShow! train and ride with us!

    Shout Outs & Notes :

Thanks to the following people for making SDCC awesome : Rachel West (IG - @superrachgirl), JC Lopez (IG - @knives_n_tingz), Jon at Nickelodeon, and can't forget the homie TJ Shevlin (@strsmydestination).

  • Holy new episode, TMNT Fans!

(So sorry for the extra long delay!)

Welcome back to another episode of BooyakaShow! In this week's episode I breakdown the very Batman '66 inspired "Bat in the Belfry" ("bat" is even in the title). Listen in as I discuss April doing Gollum impressions, Mikey's comic books coming to life, and a character from Ninja Turtle history who gets a caped crusader style makeover.

This is the last episode before Nick's TMNT goes on their usual mini-hiatus. So be prepared to go through some backlogging with me as I do episodes of the podcast based on older episodes of the show, so BooyakaShow! can have a complete archive. Stay tuned for those, but in the meantime enjoy our recap/review of "Bat in the Belfry"!

  • What's up everybody?

Thanks for joining us as we continue to play catch up! This episode is a review of Nickelodeon's TMNT episode, "Mutant Gangland". The power struggle in the city continues to shift and evolve during Shredder's absence and the Turtles and the Mighty Mutanimals get caught up in a fight for survival against Don Vizioso and his gang. The Don has anti-mutant weaponry, but the Turtles have each other - even after Raphael quits for the 27th time. Check out our latest recap/review to see what we thought.

BooyakaShow! is growing slowly, but surely - and I'm so thankful and excited for that! Thanks to all the listeners and fans who've jumped on board. Your support means a lot! • Finally!

We're back, Turtle Fans! Sorry for the delay. I had some family in town for Labor Day weekend and while it was great having visitors and we were productive around the house, my podcasting schedule got set back BIG time. I'm still playing catch up and I apologize for that, but we'll be back on schedule sometime this week!

This week's episode is our FIRST COMIC BOOK EPISODE! Listen along as I breakdown the latest two issues of TMNT comics, TMNT #61 and TMNT Universe #1. These two issues were awesome and they've turned out to be great books to kick off our comic book review episodes. I'm excited to keep these episodes going, so I hope you dig 'em.

Thanks again for your patience, guys and girls! I appreciate it. Take care!

  • Hey there Turtles Fans! (buzz buzz)

This week's episode has a pest problem. In "The Insecta Trifecta", the Turtles team takes on Baxter Stockman and his new goons in a disgustingly fun and action packed episode. Stockman Fly tries to make friends (literally), Raph fights his fears, Donnie decks the team out with some new gear, and Shredder does an X-Men impression.

Thanks for tuning in! (buzz buzz)

  • And we're back!

This week's episode breaks down "Broken Foot", an episode that has more fight scenes in 30min than Batman V Superman has in its entire 3hrs. This episode is packed with action as Leo gets caught up in Karai's battle for vengeance. His heart is in the right place, but his actions may not get him or his family the results they want. The Turtles tangle with Tiger Claw and Shredderbots, Leo goes emo, and Karai can't stay out of trouble.

(On a recording/editing note, either I'm reading too fast or I'm getting too good at editing. This is our shortest episode yet. That may have to do with the fact that the episode is almost entirely action scenes, but I'll make a point to focus on pacing my content. I'm still learning and I appreciate you guys for taking the ride with me! Also, SOUNDBITES! They're rough, but they'll get better. Thanks again, everyone!)

  • WHOO!

Our second episode! Welcome back Turtle Fans. Turns out, the second episode of BooyakaShow! is about a first episode (kind of). In today's show, I discuss the first episode of the second half of season four - it's not as confusing as it sounds - an episode titled "City At War". Dig in with me as we witness April claim a new title, we meet a new character, Tiger Claw gets kicked by a dragon, and something is afoot (pun intended).

    BooyakaShow!

    - Zach

P.S. Happy Birthday to my youngest brother, Lazarus! I love you, dude!

P.P.S. Soundbites are coming SOON! I'm worried I may be a bit boring by myself, so I'm going to work on adding snippets and/or quotes from the show to the podcast. I'm improving my recording and editing habits, skills, and techniques every episode. I promise I'll get better and as a result, the show will get better!

  • What's good, Shell Heads?

Thanks for joining me for the DEBUT episode! It'll be the first of many, so hopefully I make a strong enough impression to keep you guys coming back. You'll hear more than a handful in the episode, so please forgive me any quirks and/or hiccups as I get the show up and running. I'm still learning!

In this episode I discuss, embarrassingly enough, myself. I try to give you guys a mini rundown on who I am and why I'm beginning this journey as a podcaster. You'll learn more and more about me as time goes on, but this'll be good for starters. The other main goal of the premier episode is to get you guys acquainted with how I plan to run the show. I do my best to explain how I'm gonna set up and pace each show, what I'll do with our time, and what I hope to do going forward. It's exciting stuff! Really though, the point of this episode is to give you guys an introductory experience and set up the future of the show.

I'd like to give a couple personal shout outs for this first episode. Many, many thanks to the people who helped me get this podcast going. I want to thank my wonderful fiancé Katie for her patience and support. I want to thank my friend Jay Huggins for answering questions and being encouraging. I owe a BIG thanks and probably a little cash to my friend Gilbert Benavidez for supplying me with the quick logo treatments. Thanks to my friends and co-workers at 9Five Eyewear for encouraging me to pursue my interests and also paying me enough to do so. Thanks to everyone else that's been friendly, supportive, and encouraging!
