"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear."

Quotes
If you are not taking responsibility for your state of consciousness, you are not taking responsibility for life. Expansion and positive change on the outer level is much more likely to come into your life if you can enjoy what you are doing already, instead of waiting for some change so that you can start enjoying what you do. You will enjoy any activity in which you are fully present, any activity that is not just a means to an end. It isn't the action you perform that you really enjoy, but the deep sense of aliveness that flows into it. When you want to arrive at your goal more than you want to be doing what you are doing, you become stressed. The balance between enjoyment and structural tension is lost, and the latter has won. Unlike egoic wanting, which creates opposition in direct proportion to the intensity of its wanting, enthusiasm never opposes. It is non-confrontational. Its activity does not create winners and losers. It is based on inclusion, not exclusion, of others. When enthusiasm encounters obstacles in the form of adverse situations or uncooperative people, it never attacks but walks around them or by yielding or embracing turns the opposing energy into a helpful one, the foe into a friend. Enthusiasm is the power that transfers the mental blueprint into the physical dimension. You cannot manifest what you want; you can only manifest what you already have. The arising of a new heaven and by implication a new earth are not future events that are going to make us free. Nothing is going to make us free because only the present moment can make us free. That realization is the awakening. A new heaven and a new earth are arising within you at this moment.Music Box (100% Clearance through Musicbed)

Quotes
Knowing yourself goes far deeper than the adoption of a set of ideas or beliefs. Knowing yourself is being yourself, and being yourself is ceasing to identify with content. It is to be rooted in Being, instead of lost in your mind. When the basis for your actions is inner alignment with the present moment, your actions become empowered by the intelligence of Life itself. When you are present, when your attention is fully in the Now, that Presence will flow into and transform what you do. Once you see and accept the transience of all things and the inevitability of change, you can enjoy the pleasures of the world while they last without fear of loss or anxiety about the future. The negation of time in what you do also provides the link between your inner and outer purposes, between Being and doing. The paradox is that the foundation for greatness is honoring the small things of the present moment instead of pursuing the idea of greatness. The field of awareness that arises between you becomes the primary purpose for the interaction. That space of awareness becomes more important than physical or thought objects. The human Being becomes more important than the things of this world. The arising of that unifying field of awareness between human beings is the most essential factor in relationships on the new earth.Music Box (100% Clearance through Musicbed)

Quotes
When you don’t cover up the world with words and labels, a sense of the miraculous returns to your life that was lost a long time ago when humanity, instead of using thought, became possessed by thought. If you can recognize illusion as illusion, it dissolves. Body awareness not only anchors you in the present moment, it is a doorway out of the prison that is the ego. “Love and do what you will.” said St. Augustine. Words cannot get much closer to the Truth than that. When another recognizes you, that recognition draws the dimension of Being more fully into this world through both of you. Love implies duality: lover and beloved, subject and object. So love is the recognition of oneness in the world of duality. This is the birth of God into the world of form. Love makes the world less worldly, less dense, more transparent to the divine dimension, the light of consciousness itself.Music Box (100% Clearance through Musicbed)

Quotes
The meaning of the words, art, love, beauty, purity, passion, all this was made clear to me by the simplest of human words uttered by this workman. It is difficult for him to miss his aim, because his two feet are held firmly planted on the ground by the weight of his whole body. The universe for Zorba, as for the first men on earth, was a weighty, intensive vision; the stars glided over him, the sea broke against his temples. He lived the earth, water, the animals and God, without the distorting intervention of reason. They made a circle round Zorba and the santuri and began dancing on the pebbled shore. Thrilled, I watched them in silence. This is, I thought, the real vein I have been looking for! I want no other. The sight of a man just rends my poor devil, I think; he also eats and drinks and makes love and is frightened, whoever he is: he has his God and his devil just the same, and he’ll peg out and lie as stiff as a board beneath the ground and be food for worms, just the same. Each time that within ourselves we are the conquerors, although externally utterly defeated, we human beings feel an indescribable pride and joy. Outward calamity is transformed into a supreme and unshakable felicity.Music Box (100% Clearance through Musicbed)
