Today is a new day in business as it relates to discussing hard things.
In today's episode I share with you my perspective on race relations and God's truth for your business. Gone is the day when we can turn a blind eye and avoid these topics of conversation. We must face them head on and fight for truth and justice - even as business owners.
God has made us each in His image and we can each embrace each others cultures. AND we can never place anything before our identity in Christ.

Imagine you were taking an ad out in your local newspaper. It's approximately 4X5 and you're wanting to run that for 3 days. DO you know how much that would cost you? In my town, roughly $500 - $700. Based on the response you get, it would be fairly easy to determine what your ROI (return on investment) is.
So what's the ROI on social media? It's more challenging to figure out if you're not paying any money and are using your time and energy.
You're going to be sorely disappointed if you think you can put the least amount of work in, show up sporadically and are outsourcing every task related to social media that you lose your brand and your voice.
But if you're willing to do the work, put in the time, nurture the relationships that you form online, I believe that social media can be a game changer.
Don't be afraid to make yourself known for something. The right people are watching and will remember your name. But you have to be willing to be in the marathon, not the sprint, of social media marketing.
In today's episode, I share with you real-life examples of how I've used social media to gain some incredible opportunities. I also lay out my S.O.C.I.A.L. framework to leverage social media in your business.

'Influencer' has become quite the buzzword in our culture. Maybe you're asking 'why' get on the radar of influencers? How could little me get on the radar of a big influencer?
In today's episode, I share with you 9 tips for getting your name and business known by influencers in your industry (i.e. not all influencers are ones you should approach, find the ones that could have a positive impact on your audience).
Use Twitter >> Twitter allows you to have direct access to pretty much anyone. Identify the leaders and influencers who love being social (i.e. their feed isn't full of evergreen content and you can tell they are interacting as 'them') Buy their products or services Leave positive social proof of the products you buy Formally endorse that influencer by leaving a review or recommendation on their social media pages Create a one-minute encouragement video Recommend other people to them and their services or products Show up and engage - as a human - showing you really care Treat THEM as humans Add value to the conversations they're having on social mediaGet your copy of Heather's book, The Golden Rules of Social Media Marketing >>> https://www.sweetteasocialmarketing.com/thegoldenrules

I've heard so many stories of entrepreneurs who didn't set out to become an entrepreneur but found themselves in a place where it made the most sense for their lives - and doing it while they didn't have every 'duck in a row' and finding out things along the way. My guess is that there are those of you listening to this podcast who could say the same thing.
On today's episode, my guest, Ai Addyson-Zhang, shares her story of being a teacher to an entrepreneur and how she never had everything figured out and didn't wait until the perfect moment to make the next move.
Dr. Ai Addyson-Zhang is an Adobe Education Leader and the founder of Classroom Without Walls. Her work has been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, Pearson Education, HubSpot Academy, etc. Ai has spoken at VidCon in the US, Social Media Week Lima, Global Digital Marketing in Jamaica, Global Youth Media conference in South Korea, etc. Ai hosts a weekly live streaming show where she interviews leading digital marketers such as Seth Godin and Mark Schaefer. Ai’s ultimate goal for building Classroom Without Walls is to make formal education optional, exam-based evaluation obsolete, and personalized learning affordable, relevant, addictive, independent yet collaborative, and multidisciplinary.

Ask any entrepreneur why they went into business working for themselves and I would wager that at least 90% would say having the freedom to choose for yourself and having flexibility in their schedule would make their Top 5 Reasons for being a business owner. And I'm no exception.
On this episode, I share with you my goal of being generous and keeping things simple this year and both of those have to do with the intentional choices I make everyday that wouldn't be possible if I wasn't my own boss.

Live events and conferences are a great way to take your skills and leadership to the next level. A few years ago I had the privilege of attending Funnel Hacking Live in Nashville, TN with Russell Brunson. To say it was amazing, would be an understatement. I'll let the fact that I took 36 pages of notes speak for itself.
On today's episode, I've compiled a list of 30 things that I took away from the event that I believe (and many I have done myself) that have the power to transform your business.

If you were watching the Super Bowl Half Time Show a few weeks ago, or if you have been on social media at all, you may have noticed many people have an opinion about Shakira and Jennifer Lopez's performance.
In today's episode I share exactly how I feel about it, but more importantly, I share with you how the world perceives women empowerment, how Christians can show up in their business and be completely ready to serve the people that God has called them to help and know, not everyone is your audience.
You may agree or disagree. I would welcome you to show up on social media and tell me what you thought of today's episode (Be sure to use the #businessjesussweettea).
