It's the Season One Finale, and we've got a humdinger--the classic David vs Goliath story of Rocky Balboa, the fighter who always had a puncher's chance, in his first, Oscar-winning film. Sylvester Stallone's legendary character takes the spotlight among an incredible cast, and we'll ruin it all by recasting it for a modern remake. And it's not a Philly movie unless we get into Philly Cheesesteak recipes!
-
This week we abandon an original tenet of the show (we'll explain), break down the all-time millennial classic that is Spielberg's epic Jurassic Park, and try a delightful new twist on an old classic with sparkling Jello!
Plus as always we'll recast the movie for a right-now remake and anger you with our takes. Enjoy, and thanks for listening!

It's the final Rob pick of Season 1, and it goes to America's favorite psychopath: Bruce Wayne, who you many know as Batman, protector of Gotham City, and really bad boyfriend to a certain Ms. Kyle. We'll dig into all that, plus Danny DeVito's amazing Penguin performance, who we would recast in a right-now remake, and we'll try not one but two delicious recipes.
-
It's a Zeke Pick, and it's his favorite movie of all time, Disney's Lilo and Stitch! The lovable, furry criminal from another planet is here to escape imprisonment and learn about Ohana (that's family to you and me). Plus as always we're going to recast the movie for a right-now remake, and dive into perhaps our most delicious recipe yet--Hawaiian PBJ sandwiches.
-
It's an audience pick, and a cult classic to end all cult classics. 1985's Clue boasts an absolutely mammoth cast, and a comedic treasure trove. Dig in with Rob, Zeke, Producer Whitney and Guest Producer Crystal as we dig into its greatness, recast it for a right-now remake, and make Monkey Brains for a delicious dessert!
-
Your favorite hobbits are on a mission that involves a lot of food--and so are Sam and Frodo! Rob, Zeke, and Producer Whitney (with some help from guest producer Crystal) walk us through one of the most iconic movies of this century, our AFI Top 100 pick for this movie cycle, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. It's a long movie, but don't worry--we've packed a bag full of Lembas bread, and we'll teach you how to make it! Plus we'll recast for a right-now remake and get into our usual shenanigans. Enjoy!
-
Rob's all-time favorite movie is "Weird Al" Yankovic's 1989 cult classic, UHF, and we're covering it in this week's episode to the max! And if you're talking UHF and food, ya gotta make a Twinkie wiener sandwich to accompany the movie. Spoiler alert: it's disgusting!

Zeke's pick for the week is the epic conclusion to the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker! We'll see epic teamups, returns, and goodbyes, and we'll meet the most adorable mechanic in the galaxy. And in this week's recipe we're making Cold Brew Black Caf from Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Enjoy, and try it yourself!

Anybody wanna peanut? It's time for one of the most beloved films of the '80s, and our next audience pick--The Princess Bride (by S. Morgenstern!). Join Mandy Patinkin, Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Andre the Giant and a host of others in the exciting tale of Princess Buttercup. (Warning--it's kind of a kissing book.) And we're making the famous MLT, Mutton Lettuce and Tomato as recommended by Miracle Max. Have fun storming the castle!
-
Considered by many to be the greatest movie of all time, our next AFI top 100 pick is the highly-stylized classic from Orson Welles, sitting at the prized #1 position: Citizen Kane. Who is Charles Foster Kane? What is the meaning of his final word? Why is that woman screaming? How many cigarettes and cocktails can one civilization intake? Find out and enjoy Citizen Kane with us!

It's our first ever Rivalry Week, which means we're watching a movie we're greatly divided on. Zeke has first crack at the movie choice, so we're going with Avatar--which he loves, but Rob hates! Watch or listen and see who you side with when the smoke clears.

Let's get familial! It's the third installment of the classic Indiana Jones franchise, featuring Harrison Ford, Sean Connery and a small host of others. We'll recap the movie, recast it for a modern version, and make a staple dessert from Indiana: Sugar Cream Pie, aka Desperation Pie, aka Hoosier pie. Yum!
-
Zeke's movie pick for the week is an animated late-90's classic! Prince of Egypt gets everyone in the feels with the story of Moses and company escaping oppression in Egypt with a big assist from...Val Kilmer? It'll all make sense. And this week's recipe is a delicious lamb chop dish with a rosemary vinaigrette sauce and homemade hummus. Enjoy!

Our first Audience Pick is the time-spanning classic, Forrest Gump! Tom Hanks and Robin Wright-Penn deliver legendary performances in Robert Zemeckis's film about a simple man who accomplishes extraordinary things.
And we try our hands at making chocolate at home from scratch. We'll see how all that goes. Plus the Recast, where we cast this movie as though it's being remade today.
Thanks so much for listening, watching, and supporting the show! Enjoy Forrest Gump.

Our first AFI Top 100 pick happens to be one of the most beloved Disney animated films of all time--the classic Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. We'll dig into the details and the highlights, and we'll teach you how to make your own candy apples (not for poisoning, ok? Promise?).

Rob's first pick in the Cinema Snack Bar pantheon goes to 2006's highly-regarded and completely stupid luchador fantasy-comedy, Nacho Libre. Jack Black stars as Ignacio, a friar who chooses a path frowned upon by the Church to help feed the orphans of his mission, finding an unexpected partner (Esqueleto) and a chaste love interest (Sister Encarnacion) along the way.
And this week's recipe is The Lord's Chips, aka homemade tortilla chips! We'll try our hand at frying and baking some delicious chips that would make even the grumpiest priests come alive with their flavor.
Plus: Is it "welt" or "whelp," and we find out what makes Zeke gag!

Rob Alley (of The Great Song Podcast) and Zeke Tucker present Cinema Snackbar, the podcast that celebrates the role of food in your favorite movies. Each week we'll dive into one of our favorites, an AFI Top 100 classic, or an audience suggestion, and we'll try, make, or taste a relevant food or drink from the movie.
Got suggestions? We want to hear them! Send us a movie you'd like us to cover or a food you'd like us to try, and we'll pick our favorites to be part of the show.
