  • Dr. Debbie Fletcher didn’t plan to be engaged in the policy and politics side of emergency at all, until about four years ago. That's when her community hospital contract was taken over by a corporate management group - and they decided to replace the part-time physicians with non physicians.

That's when Dr. Fletcher was driven to fight for the rights of physicians, and her advocacy has opened up the questions of, “What is the definition of the practice of medicine? Where does the practice of medicine end versus the practice of nurse practitioners? And how can patients stay protected?”
