Additional Questions:
1.Pablo Lopez with two strong starts but he has the Astros next. Do you start him?
2.Heston Kjerstad hit a granny last night. Does he get enough at-bats to warrant rostering him?
3.George Springer hit two home runs on Friday. One good night doesn’t turn this season around, but are you still running him out, or is he on your bench? Are you dropping him in one-year leagues? How about Dynasty Leagues?
4.It was announced on Friday that James Wood will make his debut on Monday. I’m assuming the Nat’s did it to fill the seats on a slow, early summer Monday. Many rookie hitters have underperformed this season (particularly early after their callup), will he break that trend?
5.Speaking of rookies, Jackson Chourio is getting better. He’s slashing .314/.355/.543 with four home runs in June and only striking out 17% of the time. Is he starting to figure things out?
6.WOW, the Mets. What has been the difference? They clicked once Francisco Alvarez got back, and they started Vientos or Baty. Is it that easy?
a.They have crawled back to .500. Are they going to be buyers or sellers at the deadline?

Additional Questions:
1.Let'sx dive into the topic of the NL MVP race. Is Shohei Ontani running away with it? He has 23 home runs, 16 SB, and a .321 batting average. He’s leading the NL in WAR at 4.2 with no defensive help. Next in line is Harper at 3.4.
a.BTW, Gunnar Henderson and Aaron Judge are in quite a duel for the best player in the AL. Gunnar at 5.2 WAR and Judge at 5.2. Judge has 28 home runs, but Gunnar is not far behind at 24. Who wins the AL MVP?
2.Giancarlos Stanton left the game with tightness in his hamstring. And so it begins. Any idea who gets the playing time?
3.Zach Neto is having a breakout season and left last night's game with a strained calf. If he has to go on the IL, who is the pickup?
4.With the huge correction happening with Imanaga. I mean, brutal! Is the favorite for ROY leading to Jackson Merrill? He has 10 home runs, 9 stolen bases, and is hitting .290. Maybe Masyn Winn should get some consideration.
5.Tyler Soderstrom with another home run. Is it time for people to jump on the train?
6.Ryan Bliss was one of my sleepers entering the season. What do you think so far of his performance? He now has both SS and 2B eligibility.
7.Jon Gray has had quite the resurgence this season. He’s pitching to a 3.03 ERA, but his xERA is 4.28 with one of the highest exit velo against in the league. Is he a sell high?
8.Drew Thorpe looked good on Saturday. Are you ready to trust him beyond the Tigers of the league?
9.Carlos Rodon pitched terribly on Friday and was seen crying in the dugout. Is that a good thing or bad thing?

1. The injuries have been brutal of late. What is your advice for managers who have been kicked in the teeth multiple times this season with the loss of, just not fifth outfielder, put first, second, and third-round picks?
2. Mookie Betts will be out for 6 to 8 weeks with a fractured hand. This opens up an opportunity for a player to step up. Who do you think will seize this chance and make a significant impact?
3. Kyle Bradish will have Tommy John Surgery. This should secure Cade Povich for the rest of the season. How good can he be this year and in the future?
4. Bo Bichette hits the IL with a calf strain. While it doesn’t sound too bad, that doesn’t seem to be the case this season. Orelvis Martinez gets his chance. Does he hit? Does he stick?
5. Christian Encarnacion Strand might need season-ending surgery. Noelvi Marte should be finishing his 80-game suspension soon, as the Reds have played 75 games this year. Is he the answer for playing time there. Should fantasy managers be excited by the potential?
6. Anthony Rizzo is out for two months with a fractured arm. Ben Rice has been promoted and will get the strong side of the platoon. Should fantasy managers be excited about this?
7. Justin Verlander hits the IL with neck soreness. It might not be too long, but the Astros are out of pitchers. What will they do? Is there anything of interest for fantasy managers?
8. Yimi Garcia hits the IL with a nerve issue in his elbow. I’ve heard of no time frame for his return. Who is the pickup for saves now in Toronto?
9. As expected, Mike Trout is healing slower than anticipated. It’s really interesting that some people heal faster than others. I remember when Albert Puljos broke his arm and spent the minimum time on the IL (15 days). Trout appears to be on the opposite side of that equation. Not a criticism, just an observation and a disappointment to his fantasy managers. Thoughts?
10. Tyler Black has been promoted back to the Brewers. Does he get enough playing time to be relevant for fantasy managers?
11. Johan Rojas was demoted earlier this week when the Phillies activated Trea Turner from the IL. Were you surprised that Rojas got demoted? They kept Mickey Moniak, Christian Pache, and David Dahl. Sure, they were all of out options, but really?
12. The Mets are playing much better, and arguably, Christian Scott, their best pitcher, was sent back to the minors and continues to pitch well. What am I missing?
13. What hitter are you targeting for this weekend’s FAAB?
14. What pitcher are you targeting for this weekend's FAAB? -

1. Kristian Campbell (Bos)
2. Moises Ballesteros (CHC)
3. Cristian Hernandez (CHC)
4. Yeremi Cabrera (Tex)
5. Luis Pena (Mil)
6. Gary Gill Hill (TB) -

Additional Notes:
1.Yamamoto – bummer…
2.Michael Harris hits the IL list with a grade-2 hamstring issue. Grade 2 means four weeks or so – maybe longer. Who is the pickup?
3.Kyle Bradish is back on the IL with more elbow inflammation. What do the Orioles do? Chayce McDermott?
4.DJ Herz shoves it on Saturday. I’ve been writing about him for years. He doesn’t throw hard, but it’s also getting a ton of whiffs. The change-up is pretty good. He did get 21 whiffs on 45 swings on Saturday, which is pretty good. It was against the Marlins. Thoughts?
5.The Astros parted ways with Jose Abreu, getting over 50% of this contract. Ouch. Joey Loperfido didn’t get the call, but that could have been because he needs to spend 10 days in Triple-A (unless there is an injury). Is he the guy who eventually takes over?
6.Are you ready to trust Edwin Diaz again?
7.Hunter Brown is starting to look good? Thoughts?
8.Gerrit Cole had a nice Triple-A tune up. 10K in 4.2 IP. Fastball though was off by over 2 MPH. Hmmm.

Additional Notes:
1. I’m assuming the International series helps baseball, but the venues leave a lot to be desired. I think they are playing on a trampoline in London.
2. Alek Manoah, Christian Javier, and Jose Urquidy all hit the TJ list this week. Well, Manoah is having surgery, but I haven’t seen the exact surgery yet. Robert Gasser is on his third opinion on what to do with his UCL team. Just a PSA
3. The Braves keep churning through pitchers. It’s now Hurston Waldrep’s time as Spencer Schwellenbach didn’t work out.
4. Adael Amador gets the call. I just saw him in Somerset (Double-A) on Thursday. Any interest?
5. Nico Hoerner has a small fracture. No IL list yet. If he goes on IL, who gets his playing time?
6. Kyle Tucker hits the IL, and our buddy Joey Loperfido is recalled.
7. Juan Soto only has inflammation and looks ok, BUT still is likely to hit the IL. It makes you wonder if he’s really ok.
8. Hunter Brown with a good outing and has pitched better of late.

1.Joey Estes had a great start on Thursday. While his ERA is 4.67, his xERA is 3.08. He doesn’t throw particularly hard but pounds the strike zone. Your thoughts on him going forward?
2.Adam Mazur got the call and pitched well on Tuesday – 6 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 2K/4BB. Is he going to be a big FAAB guy this weekend? Will it be worth it?
3.Cade Povich finally got the call. We will discuss his start and whether there is any interest.
4.Give me five players that have let fantasy managers down this season. Please provide at least two that have let you down personally.

d.Jordan Walker –
e.Bo Naylor -

c.Jack Flaherty – 4.99 ERA vs. 3.22 ERA
6.Blake Snell is hurt again and is pitching to a 9.51 ERA and Jordan Montgomery is pitching to a 6.80 ERA. We saw this coming a mile away, but fantasy managers still invested. What are the takeaways from this?
a.Do you think other Scott Boras pitching clients will think twice about signing well after spring training starts?
7.I sat Jared Jones against the Dodgers this week because, well, they are the Dodgers. He shoved it. Should fantasy managers be less worried about facing the Dodgers? Some flaws in the lineup are starting to show.
8.The Pirates recalled Henry Davis. He did go 1 for 3 in his first game back. Any interest?

Additional Questions
1.Ryan Weathers with 11 strikeouts on Saturday. He’s pitching to just over a 3.00 ERA. Michael Lorenzen is not striking out many guys but is pitching ok.
a.These are the pitchers you must grab to make a difference. Thoughts?
2.Dany Jimenez with the close. Do you trust him enough to be the setup guy for Miller?
3.Chris Sale got pounded. Is it just a bad game?
a.Michael Andujar with a big game. I think he made your waiver wire.
4.Darvish and Musgrove both hit the IL. What do the Padres do to backfill these innings?
5.You called it with Romano. I’m assuming it’s Yimi time?
6.Albert Suarez keeps getting it done. Arsenal looks pretty good with a 95 MPH fastball and solid secondaries. He’s available in many leagues. Are you interested?
7.Yikes, John Means with another UCL elbow surgery. Just got back from the last one.

1.It’s official: Ronald Acuna is lost for the season. It’s his second knee surgery in three years, and I have to ask the question: Should we draft Acuna early in the first round when he has just not been able to stay healthy?
a.If you're one of the unfortunate ones with Acuna on your roster, who are a couple of players you might consider adding as a replacement?
b.React to these Dynasty League trades that occurred within 24 hours of his injury.
i.Aaron Judge and Torkelson for Acuna, Jung Hoo Lee, Nick Gonzalez, Alex Kiriloff
ii.Fernando Tatis Jr. and James Triantos for Acuna
2.More Injuries
a.Mets
i.Edwin Diaz was put on the IL with a right shoulder impingement. True or not, it doesn’t matter. Give me the breakdown of who gets saves in New York.
ii.Pete Alonso – Only has a bruised hand.
b.LaMonte Wade will miss time with a left hamstring strain.
i.While not a big name, pretty important guy in OBP Leagues. Do you have any thoughts on who might be a pickup here to replace modest power but high OBP?
c.Evan Carter hits the IL with a back strain.
i.Does he return to Texas when he’s healthy, or does he go to Triple-A?
d.Junior Caminero will miss 4 to 6 weeks with a Grade-2 left quad strain. See, the Rays were right. Why bring him up simply for him to get hurt and be on the IL? He might not be up until a September call-up (again)
3.Jorge Lopez made news when he threw his glove into the stands after another loss by the Mets and then told a reporter that the Mets were the worst team in baseball. He got designated for assignment.
a.Can’t speak the truth in New York I guess.
b.Will he have trouble getting work?
4.The much-maligned Angel Hernandez retired abruptly this week, and social media sites blew up. Fans and even players seemed thrilled. We will toss this around for a few minutes.
5.The cream is rising to the surface pretty early, as most of the top players in fantasy were high picks. We will look at the Top 15 guys and evaluate whether they are first-round quality or not. We will use the CBS player rater as our guide.
6.We will also do the same thing with pitchers…although Top 10. We will use the CBS player rater as our guide.
7.Should the Astros admit that their window is closed and start retooling, or should they still try to be contenders?
a.Based on your answer, give me a few things they should do.
8.One more question based on Thursday’s games.
9.Give me a hitter you will target for this weekend’s FAAB.
10.Give me a pitcher you will target for this weekend’s FAAB. -

2. Jacob Gonzalez (CHW)
3. Max Clark (Det)

5. Tink Hence (STL)
6. Allen Fucundo (NYY) -

Additional Notes:
1.Jackson Chourio had his 150th at-bat on Friday. It’s a win, but not a confident win. Are you disappointed in his performance, or is this what you thought coming into the season would happen?
a.Joey Wiemer gets demoted, and Oliver Dunn is back up. Any interest?
2.The Mets – WOW…on a brutal stretch. Diaz with another blown save. Lindor absolutely quitting on a pitch. He said he could pick up the spin and was hoping the pitcher would throw a ball. What???
3.What happened to George Springer?
4.Wyatt Langford has started his rehab and should be back soon. Would/should the Rangers send Evan Carter down in a corresponding move? He’s not been good and is not going to get in better, hitting against lefties while on the bench.
5.Jordan Beck broke his hand and will be out for a while. That’s a bummer.
6.News flash – The Yankees are really good. They have the best record in the American League. And, Gerrit Cole is starting to ramp up
