The Power of Rhino Skin
In this episode of the Finding Direction podcast, I want to express my gratitude to all of you, my listeners. I truly appreciate your support and the time you take to tune in. Today, I want to start by talking about the power of gratitude in our daily lives.
Next, I want to introduce you to a concept I like to call "rhino skin." It's all about developing resilience and protecting ourselves from negative opinions and judgments when we choose a path that goes against the norm. It's important to remember that not everyone will understand or support our choices, and that's okay. We need to imagine those judgments and opinions as bullets bouncing off our rhino skin, not affecting us or bringing us down.
Another important aspect of finding our direction is connecting with our intuition and inner voice. Sometimes, it can be difficult to discern the right path amidst all the noise and external influences. But by tuning in and trusting our inner guidance, we can navigate through life with more clarity and confidence.
What We Discuss:
The power of gratitude [00:01:05] Importance of practicing gratitude and its positive impact on daily life.
Going against the grain [00:02:07] The challenges and judgments faced when choosing a different path in life.
Developing rhino skin [00:04:20] Learning to deflect negative opinions and judgments from others when pursuing unconventional goals.
The importance of practice [00:09:36] The speaker emphasizes the importance of practicing getting in touch with oneself and seeking guidance.
Developing rhino skin [00:09:36] The speaker encourages the listener to develop resilience and not be discouraged by initial lack of guidance.
The benefits of finding one's path [00:09:36] The speaker promises a more fulfilling and happy life when one learns to follow their true guiding system.
