(February 24, 2021) During the time when basketball was all that matters, Renren Ritualo, now a family man, struck fear in the hearts of his opponents with his deadly touch from the outside and an array of skill sets that made him an unstoppable force on the offensive end. More than that, what made him special was his hunger and will to win at all cost.
Winning in all levels of basketball against elite competition, being only 1 of 3 DLSU Green Archers to have a retired jersey, and, recently, being an inductee in the DLSU sports Hall of Fame have unquestionably put the name and legacy of Renren aka "The Rainman" on a whole 'nother level in the world of Philippine basketball.

(February 17, 2021) Jervy Cruz had only one thing in mind when he wanted to play college basketball in Manila. It wasn't about the fame, the fortune, or playing in the pro league. For Jervy, studying college with a full scholarship was what mattered the most.
Accepted to the University of Sto. Tomas basketball program, Jervy ended up spending 4 years in the Team B before a coaching change in 2006, putting Coach Pido Jarencio at the helm, that gave Jervy the opportunity of a lifetime to finally play in the UAAP.
At that point on, never did he look back on what became a long and fruitful basketball career that started out with just the hopes of a college education.

(January 27, 2020) Capturing 3 championship titles in the UAAP Men's Football and topping the 2012 bar exam might already be the highest of highlights in a lifetime, but Atty. Mickey Ingles thinks otherwise.
Finishing his graduate degree abroad and coming back to the Philippines, he is on a mission to educate and protect individuals and organizations around the legalities involved in sports, to popularize the practice of sports law locally, while, at the same time, pursuing his passion for teaching as a law professor and his passion for writing as a book author for tax, sports law, and a novel.

(January 20, 2021) Not finding any spark when trying out basketball and badminton, Nikko Huelgas found home with swimming and, eventually, included running and biking into the mix. Nikko might not be the most talented and the most gifted athlete, but leveraging on his confidence, boldness and openness to learn and adapt, when he was still a young aspiring athlete, he managed to find his way to the top having won multiple national triathlon titles, back-to-back SEA games gold, and topping the Ironman 70.3 Asian Elite.
Nikko is a brand ambassador for various household brand names and is, currently, the Chair for the POC Athletes' Commission.

(December 16, 2020) Apart from being a college student, a philanthropist during the coronavirus pandemic and a digital entrepreneur, Maxine Esteban is a young fencing prodigy who is on a roll with various international feats in her sport. Admittedly, her fast rise to stardom caused her to feel entitled and privileged which eventually led to a slip in her performance. Learning from her mistakes, Maxine is more than ready to bounce back and turn things around to reclaim her lost glory.
Moreover, as of this writing, she's also showing signs as a promising esports streamer/gamer.

(December 2, 2020) To be the first Filipino to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics doesn't sound so bad when only 14 Filipino athletes, on average, get to participate in the olympics since the the turn of the 21st century, which is already considered elite level in the context of Philippine sports.
All the more when you're holding and shattering all the national records with nobody coming close and, at the same time, putting your country on the world map for men's pole vault, EJ Obiena has definitely made a mark that will be talked about years and decades from now. And, the fact that EJ has no plans on stopping just yet in the foreseeable future will only make his case as a once-in-a-blue-moon Filipino athlete.

(November 25, 2020) Beneath the fame, Agatha Wong had a humbling journey, as part of the national team, going through her first 3 years without winning any medals in international competition; and, despite competing in an unpopular sport, she is arguably considered as one of the most influential Filipino athletes we have today, which is evident when she was recently named as brand ambassador for Lexus Philippines.
Leaving an impression of having a quiet, shy and reserved demeanor, Agatha uses her voice, popularity and influence to spread and promote the sport of Wushu to fellow Filipinos.

(November 18, 2020) More popularly known as a TV & movie actor, Andre Paras, the son of Benjie Paras, a PBA Legend, and the older brother of Kobe Paras, one of the most popular young stars of Philippine basketball, has always loved and been passionate about the game of basketball from the get-go playing for the La Salle Greenies and the UP Fighting Maroons even before showbiz happened.
Having to make a difficult decision of choosing acting and, consequently, taking some time-off basketball due to schedule conflict, Andre rekindles with his first love after making a comeback with the PBA D-League in 2017 and is currently preparing for the PBA draft in hopes of making his dreams come true.

(November 11, 2020) Quite often mistaken to be a foreigner because of features considered to be un-Filipino like, which came from her Saudi Arabian dad, Jasmine Alkhaldi has always been a Filipino by heart and spirit having been born and raised here in the Philippines. Apart from that, being negatively labeled as different with her unwomanly-like body/figure and going through years of depression didn't stop Jasmine from dominating Philippine women's swimming over the past decade and representing the Philippines, with so much pride and passion, at the highest level of competition (i.e., Olympics).

(November 4, 2020) Anything great or impossible that was ever accomplished started with "belief", which was the only thing Coach Ghicka Bernabe and the National University (NU) Pep Squad had to begin with when their paths were intertwined back in 2011. Coming from FEU, a rival UAAP school where she was a former cheerleader, Coach Ghicka taking over the head coaching duties wasn't a welcome sight and she was even petitioned to be taken out of the program.
Despite the uneventful start, they were able to pull off one of the most legendary runs in the history of Philippine cheerleading, as they manage to bag 6 out of the possible 9 UAAP Cheerdance Competition championships, after being a bottom-dweller for almost a decade since NU started taking part in the competition.

(October 21, 2020) Since his Palarong Pambansa days, dominating the Philippine swimming scene and paving the way for future swimming champions has been the norm for 2x olympian Jessie Lacuna (who in his admirable humility will deny it). Though, beneath the surface of what is seen by the public, people will realize that Jessie is also a human who experienced various setbacks throughout the years such as separation anxiety from his family and the unwanted feeling of plateauing, to name some, all for the pursuit of being the best athlete that he can be.

(September 30, 2020) Not being a highly-touted recruit coming out of high school, Tonino Gonzaga didn't let his lack of talent and physical gifts become an excuse from playing the game of basketball at the highest level and to the best of his ability. Being part of the Ateneo Blue Eagles, almost a decade ago, that won 5 straight championships in the UAAP, Tonino is still in his quest to squeeze out all the juice he has left for the game in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League as part of the Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards, while working as a stocks broker and being a businessman.

(September 23, 2020) Donnie Geisler, a 2x olympian and the Philippine flag bearer during the 2000 Sydney Olympics, takes a trip down memory lane of his illustrious career in the sport of Taekwondo, which started more than 3 decades ago when he tried out the sport at the age of 7. Considered as one of the best to have represented the Philippines in the said sport and, now, at the helm of his own school, Donnie Geisler Taekwondo Training Center, he sets his eyes on producing future olympians, not only as champions, but human beings who embody the 5 tenets of Taekwondo.
