  • The Mikes are travelling back to the 90's once again to bring you this oh-so-90's horror film "Disturbing Behavior."

Field thinks Butler just can't appreciate good trash in this mess of a horror film with a troubled production. Starring James Marsden, Katie Holmes, and Nick Stahl, this film was written and directed by veteran "X-Files" crew; a fact that's about the only thing Butler likes about this film...oh, that and that scene where "Flagpole Sitta" plays, love that song.

  • Did you know Tim Burton has only made one horror film?

You read that right. Though Tim Burton is known for his spooky and macabre avante garde style, he never released a true horror film. That is not until the 1999 Johnny Depp starrer "Sleepy Hollow." Also starring Christina Ricci and Christopher Walken as the Headless Horseman, this horror film tells the classic tale Washington Irving tale of Ichabod Crane in with a few twists that make this movie an exciting and Halloween appropriate dive into the world of Forgotten Horror!

  • This is it. After four years of film viewing and discussion, it all comes down to this moment...the Forgotten Cinema farewell episode.

Join Mike Butler and Mike Field one last time as they discuss not a movie, but their very own podcast. The Mikes will go over what some of their favorite moments on the podcast were, and maybe some of their least favorite. They'll talk about the commercials that they filmed for many of the episodes and even answer some questions, submitted by listeners like you.

And though this is the end (and I'm out of a sweet podcast summary gig) do not weep for Forgotten Cinema. Keep it in your hearts, relisten and share with other film buffs. Go out and find other forgotten films that you may have missed or forgotten about. The Mikes will move on, and in time, so shall you.

So, we hope you had your popcorn and soda, noticed the exits to the left and right of you as you say goodbye to Forgotten Cinema.

  • The Mikes are ending Forgotten Cinema?! It's a conspiracy I tell you! See what I did there?

Mike Field and Mike Butler take a look at one last film for Forgotten Cinema and they're going out with a bang! Taking a look at a film starring America's darling, Mel Gibson. Just kidding! I mean Julia Roberts! There, that's better.

The Mikes discuss the 1997 Richard Donner film, Conspiracy Theory, also starring Patrick Stewart in a villain role. They'll mostly talk about the utter lack of conspiracy in this film and the amount of pure happenstance and convenience that is needed to keep the plot going. When that fails, the characters simply explain to you an entire subplot at the end of the film that they have never brought up before; but apparently has been the driving force of the entire film.

So, for one last time, grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits to the left and right of you and settle down for Forgotten Cinema.

  • It's the penultimate episode of Forgotten Cinema and the Mikes are going to prison...

    SPACE PRISON!

Join Mike Butler and Mike Field as they discuss the 2012 Luc Besson produced sci-fi action film Lockout, starring Guy Pearce. The Mikes talk about how they love Pierce's ripped from the 90's action hero, Snow, but regret that he wasn't placed in a better more (literally) grounded film. Butler loves the nostalgic feeling this movie has in it's feeling like a movie from a decade or two prior, but cannot and does not defend it from Field pointing out the poor story, shoddy CGI, and annoying secondary villain.

  • What do you get, when you combine a medical malpractice drama, a husband/wife thriller, and a serial rapist murder mystery film? You get Malice! One of writer Aaron Sorkin's most bizarrely plotted films, but holy crap, does it have some great dialogue.

Listen in as Mike Field and Mike Butler discuss this film starring Alec Baldwin, Bill Pullman, and Nicole Kidman. Both Mikes agree that Baldwin's role as a cocky surgeon is his most Alec Baldwin role, and he gets to deliver one of the greatest monologues in 90's cinema in this film. The Mikes, however, don't understand why the plot is so convoluted. The serial rapist murder plot is a subplot that serves absolutely no purpose in this film, and the main con that drives the second half the film is so contrived and silly that the only thing that saves this film is the good acting and great dialogue. But those two things alone make this a film worth going back to.

  • This is it! The Mike finally covering the film everyone has been waiting for...

    2001's Josie and the Pussycats!

Listen in as Mike Field and Mike Butler discuss this completely overlooked and underappreciated comedy, starring Rachael Leigh Cook, Rosario Dawson, Tara Reid, and more.

The Mikes talk about how comedies of the late 90's and early 00's have been replaced by odd dramadies, that the film didn't pay or get paid for any of the real brands that were used (to hilarious effect) in the film. They also discuss the many cameo appearances, awesome dialogue, and easy to miss jokes in this film that deserves its spot on Forgotten Cinema!

That's right, Mike Butler and Mike Field are taking a look at yet another Joel and Ethan Coen film, The Hudsucker Proxy, starring Tim Robbins, Paul Newman, and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Listen in as the Mikes discuss this quirky comedy. The story might be a little on the thin side, but the dialogue, acting, cinematography, and gags more than make up for it.

  • The Mikes are going back to 1987 to meet some robots, who might be aliens, but are definitely going to have some robot lovin' and make some robot babies as they look at the Brad Bird written, *batteries not included, directed by Matthew Robbins.

Listen in as Mike Butler and Mike Field talk about this feel good 80's movie, that upon closer inspection leaves a lot to be desired in terms of story and character development. Butler enjoys the message of the movie and that film such as this would never be made nowadays, but like Field cannot get past the vague and sudden appearance of the little robots, or the lack of clear definition of its human cast of characters.
