This week’s guest, Katie, is a powerhouse in the fitness world: an ex-professional dancer, Pilates instructor, and co-founder of The Method, an award-winning and internationally recognised teacher training module for fitness instructors. But this episode isn’t just about her impressive career; it’s about the personal challenges and transformations that come with starting over.
Earlier this year, Katie and her family made the bold move to Hamilton Island for her husband’s new job. Leaving behind her successful at-home Pilates studio, Katie found herself in an unfamiliar place with no local connections and the added challenge of a transient community.
In this episode, Katie opens up about adapting to island life, navigating loneliness, and stepping into her first corporate role as an Executive Assistant - a stark shift from her comfort zone in fitness.

When Ivy became pregnant at 18, she faced the heavy stigma around teenage pregnancy. A comment from a colleague: “I’m not saying congratulations to her; she just ruined her life”, has stuck with her. While these words stung, they also fuelled Ivy’s drive to prove everyone wrong.
In this week’s episode, Ivy opens up about what it was like watching her now-husband build his career while she stayed home with babies, seeing her friends go off to uni or travel, and feeling the isolation of having no one around who understood the realities of parenthood.
We dive into her journey of creating a photography business that allowed her to work around her kids, and the lingering imposter syndrome that’s still present, even after creating a life where she can choose her own hours, work on her own terms, and do something she loves.
As she nears the end of the baby and toddler season, Ivy reflects on this new phase, one where she’s learning to focus on herself and figure out who she is beyond “just a mum.”

In today’s episode, I sit down with Kaz, managing director of Bountiful (formerly Bounty) and mum to baby Elsie and three stepchildren. We dive into the realities of balancing a business through a challenging pregnancy, the postpartum period, and the unique pressures of managing both a career and family life when you work for yourself.
Kaz opens up about the financial strain caused by a difficult pregnancy; missing out on work left her playing catch-up right after Elsie’s birth. Just days into motherhood, she was back at it: meeting deadlines, finalising artwork, and signing clients for the February print run of Your Pregnancy magazine. Kaz shares how she felt robbed of the “newborn bubble” she’d hoped for, as her planned maternity leave boundaries quickly disappeared.
We also explore the blurred lines between work and mum life when family needs and career demands are always competing for attention, and how Kaz is learning to carve out time for both.

Julia, a full-time lawyer and mum of two, shares how she and her husband have embraced what some consider “non-traditional” roles. She’s continued to build her career after having kids, while her husband took a step back to stay home with their daughters a few days a week.
But the journey hasn’t been without its challenges. Julia has faced double standards, often being asked, “Is this what you really want?”
Julia’s story is an empowering one for ambitious women, showing that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to balancing work and family. Success is about finding what works best for you.

"My identity is mum... and I kind of love it."
This week's episode features Louise, a stay-at-home mum of three, who - despite earning a commerce degree, majoring in commercial law - chose to dedicate herself to raising her children when she became a first-time mum at age 24. Now, with three kids growing up fast, she’s busier than ever and still stands by her decision. As a "young mum", Louise reflects on why she sometimes feels like other women don’t take her seriously. This is an open and honest conversation that touches on the complexities of modern motherhood and the invisible load so many stay-at-home mums carry.

My first guest episode for Have It All features my "school-mum friend" turned friend, Kathryn. In this episode, Kathryn - head of marketing and mum of two - opens up about the challenges of balancing a high-profile career with motherhood.

This week, I dive into all things full-time work, part-time childcare (because seriously, how does anyone make that math work?), the mental load of trying to juggle it all, and a biggie: self-acceptance. Maybe not all of us are built for the 9-5 grind, and that’s okay.
Can’t wait to hear what you think—let's keep the conversation going! 🎧
