We’re in shock.
Jenn Tran’s Bachelorette story comes to a horrifying ending in the season finale, and we are devastated and frankly livid with this franchise. In this Bachelorette recap, we review the season finale where we learn Jenn and Devin’s engagement came to a near-immediate end shortly after filming ended and then see a disgustingly cruel After the Final Rose live finale where Jenn is made to watch her proposal to Devin for the first time on stage with him setting next to her. This show failed Jenn in so many ways.
We are absolutely aghast that this season — which we had been so excited and hopeful about, which loudly promoted Jenn as their first Asian American lead and promised us an incredible love story with her as the main character — ended in such a horrific way. We unpack that horrible ATFR segment, what happened between Jenn and Devin (and why we weren’t surprised by his swerve), as well as takeaways from the Jenn and Marcus breakup (because we’ve known men like Marcus).

Fantasy suites brought us *two* surprise confessions of love, and if we’re being honest, neither of them felt great.

Why did Jenn’s hometown dates feel so… concerning?
It’s hometowns week on Jenn Tran’s season of The Bachelorette (Season 21, Episode 7). Usually hometowns is a big ol’ nothing-burger, but Jenn’s hometowns with Devin, Jeremy, Jonathon, and Marcus actually raised many new questions and concerns about her final four men and the relationships she has with each of them. Devin says I love you to Jenn, but the rest of the men seem to be way far behind in terms of their feelings for her. Jeremy goes home for it, but Jonathon and Marcus both also seem to be struggling to emotionally get there with Jenn.
