Our conversation topics centered on his experiences during the United States' Cold War era: 1950s, 60s, & 70s, Baby Boomers, politics, culture, the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, music trends and much more. In the episode, we interviewed Bethany Paxton, a research scientist working with UAMS (University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences) in Little Rock, studying DNA and CRISPR-Cas9 genome editing technology. Topics included her initial interest in scientific research, our responses to the COVID-19 epidemic, as well as her ongoing research through UAMS and how this work may someday lead to better health care outcomes.
