Unpopular opinions? Hot takes? Whatever you may call them... I talk about some of mine and then I just rant as I always do. That's the beauty of this podcast.
Recently I've been doing this thing where whenever I am at a store and interacting with staff or if I am getting on a bus and interacting with the driver, my brain is like "Saying thank you is too boring. We've been doing it for 21 years". So I have just been going "Merci". I have no idea why this is happening. I am not French.
Do I just write random mini stories in these episode descriptions rather than actually describing the episode??
Btw I'm obsessed with Jaden. Why is his music so good?? The visuals are so dope too. His energy is insane. Jaden please go on tour. -
Fully unedited episode of me talking about Kid Cudi and purpose. This was an unplanned episode. I just wanted to get my thoughts out on this so this is as raw and unfiltered as it can get.
Thank you. Thank you for listening. -
Mangler du episoder?

So much is happening on the internet right now. The Lil Tay situation is one of them and I just had to talk about it. In discussing this, I was able to get into how weird the internet can be and how damaging it can be to a lot of people.
I hope you enjoy this one.

This week Boris and I talk about whatever for an hour. Very all over the place and fun and entertaining. You already know how it goes if you have ever listened to an episode with us.
Enjoy!! -
My co-host, Boris who is usually nowhere to be found makes another appearance today. This time he brings on friend of the show, Rassan and we have a nice chat. We get really political at some points in the episode but we somehow manage to still keep things fun and light-hearted. It is a pretty chaotic episode overall which makes so much sense because it involves Boris and I.
Thank you for lending an ear.
I appreciate every one of you. -
True crime is quite popular in modern media. It almost feels like Netflix is actively waiting for the next psycho killer on the loose just so they can keep making documentaries. People are not mad at this either. True crime fans love to dissect the minds of the people who perpetrate these crimes and tend to view them as complex or interesting individuals who are worth studying.
I personally like to counteract this. I give you my argument as to why I think these offenders should be given less of a platform. I believe excess amounts of attention can feed this kind of behaviour and that goes against what we really want.
Tell me what you think. What side of the argument do you fall on? -
This episode mainly consists of me updating you on where I've been mentally since the last time I uploaded. You are probably wondering why I am this late to talk about this topic. The reason for that is I was supposed to about a month ago but I'm here now and that is all that matters.
I express my thoughts on the topic. But not really which is so typical of me. I do more of talking around concepts which are related to the topic. Rather than talking about tangible facts in a "reporty" sense. If you hate that you will hate every episode I make. Forever. I somehow end up branching off of the main topic and getting to the conclusion that "the commercialisation of creativity" is the bigger topic here.
I also talk about parasocial relationships (for the millionth time) and the artist-fan dynamic. How that can be a transactional relationship.
Celebrity culture. Artistry being a service job in our current time. Fan entitlement.
It would not be a tiwi episode without the random mini rants and going off on tangents. I do a bit of that at the end.
Enjoy!! -
Everyone always talks about 2016 with so much joy. I have seen this year be referred to as "the golden year" or "when times were simpler". And I get it. So I decided to make an episode doing a dive into 2016/2017. I talk about my own perception of that time and how I feel about the things which made that year distinct. From soundcloud rap being at its peak, to internet personalities being even more unhinged.
At the end of my "analysis" I land on the sentiment that 2016 was truly a special year but there is still a bit of nostalgia when we think about it. Do you agree or disagree?

Sparkling water is disgusting.

I talk about finding my personal style. Discovering how I like to express myself through clothes and where that all started. Social media's influence on trend cycles and people's styles. The hold minimalism had on me as a teenager. I even call out emos at some point. It gets pretty chaotic and my broken humour is ever present.
Inspiration is a big thing for me when it comes to style, so I had to mention my style references. People like Raf, Pharrell, Miuccia and Tyler.
Who are your style references and if you had to describe your style in three words, what would they be? Or maybe you don't have a "style". That is cool as well. When it comes to style, I really think anything goes.

I have been thinking about personality traits more than usual, for some reason this week. Learning more about narcissism. Revisiting typology. I go into the whole introversion vs extroversion debacle. I noticed how online people tend to have a certain attitude towards this topic (at least on my end). Especially in relation to interpersonal relationships and I wanted to share my opinion on that. I also very briefly talk about the prominence of "toxic positivity" and "gym culture".
Hopefully this podcast doesn't become a full on psychology podcast but this is just what has been on my mind lol.

I discuss the fatigue which comes with being online a lot. This can come from feeling drained, due to information overload or being exposed to a lot of negativity online. I mostly talk about how weird social media feels a lot of the time. But I still acknowledge the ways in which it can be positive. It is a very introspective episode which revolves around me mentioning things I have noticed about the topic. You don't get anything scientific or accurate, I include a lot of personal anecdotes. A major reccuring theme on this podcast has been me talking about "balance" and "finding balance amidst the chaos of it all" and that shows up here once again.
I hope this resonates,

This is definitely my favourite episode till date. Join Boris and I today as we talk about anything and everything under the sun. In a way which could get us in trouble. I made sure to leave a lot of stuff in to give you the feel of an authentic conversation. I don't want to give too much away. You just have to get into it. I already know you'll have so much fun with this one.

Have you ever had to cut ties with someone? It sucks but sometimes it just has to happen. Today, you get an unscripted episode. Off the top of my head. I just whipped out my mic and made this one super quick without any idea of how it would turn out. I talk about how my week has been (rough). And I go on to ramble about the topic without actually talking about the topic. If you want to hear me squirm for 50 minutes, here you go.

Music is something we all listen to and enjoy. It is everywhere and we can never really escape it. In this episode, I talk about discovering music in my childhood. All the music phases I've gone through up to this point (most of them are embarrassing). Music I'm currently enjoying and my thoughts on DJs and live events.
I also go into the current culture we have around rap music and my feelings about it. I briefly touch on the newer generation music, "problematic" artists and weird fan behaviour.
I hope you have as much fun listening as I had talking about this. Let's hop in.
You can dm me @tiwiogunye if you have any comments. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
Also, leave reviews if you can. Any kind of feedback is much appreciated.

In today's episode I talk about transitioning from childhood to adulthood. The trials and tribulations which come with that, from a Gen Z perspective. My stance on finding yourself in that journey.
Overall, you get a stream of consciousness which doesn't feel too cohesive. I think this works perfectly with the theme of feeling lost within all of this. I hope you can connect with this in some way.
Yours truly,

In this episode I talk about the process of starting a podcast. The internal debate you go through. Dealing with the idea of putting yourself out there for the first time. Worrying about things not being perfect or good enough.
I also lose focus and go on tangents about the most random things ever.
I hope you find value in this.
Enjoy!!,
Tiwi.
