Lesson Recap: Last Monday's Live Session (7:00 p.m.)

Learn Polish in Poland www.learn-polish.pl
Last Monday, we had a fantastic live lesson focused on the theme of nawyki (habits). It was a valuable opportunity for VIP members to dive into discussions about both good habits (dobre nawyki) and bad habits (zÅe nawyki) in our lives and explore how they affect us. As always, VIP members received our email newsletter with guidance, translations, and key vocabulary to support their learning. During the live lesson, members could interact with me directlyāwhether they wanted to chat or simply listen in.
We also engaged in speaking practice, breaking out into small groups to help everyone feel comfortable practicing Polish in a conversational setting. This allowed for more personal interaction and encouraged everyone to put their Polish into practice!
To enhance accessibility, Iām currently working on adding subtitles to this lesson video, so all members will have an easier time following along and reviewing.
Next Class Announcement: Monday at 7:00 p.m.
Iām looking forward to seeing everyone next Monday at 7:00 p.m., when weāll shift gears and discuss going to the cinema (iÅÄ do kina). With my own movie outing planned for Saturday, Iām excited to bring fresh insights to our next topic. Weāll explore related vocabulary and phrases, and as always, practice speaking together.
Thank you to everyone who joined, and see you next Monday!

Overview of the Locative CaseThe locative case (miejscownik) in Polish is used mainly after certain prepositions to indicate location, often meaning "in" or "at" a specific place. Itās commonly used with prepositions like w (in), na (on), and o (about).
Quick Rule:For most nouns, the locative case changes the ending, often by adding -e, -u, or -ie. Let's look at how this applies to some city names.
Examples of the Locative Case with City Names:In Warsaw ā w WarszawieIn Cracow ā w KrakowieIn GdaÅsk ā w GdaÅskuIn LÄbork ā w LÄborkuNotice that city names like Warszawa and KrakĆ³w change to Warszawie and Krakowie in the locative case. This follows typical locative patterns: "-a" endings often become "-ie," and "-Ć³w" endings often shift to "-owie."
Additional Practice and ExamplesFor more practice, join my Monday class at 7:00 p.m. where weāll dive into speaking and listening exercises. Members also get access to a library of examples and a 7-day free trial to practice with real-life sentences.
