As Christians, our identity in Christ is rooted in our faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. This means that we are a children of God, and that our worth and value are based on our relationship with Him rather than on anything we do or achieve. In Christ, we have been redeemed and forgiven of our sins, and we have been given a new life and a new identity as a member of God's family.
Our identity in Christ also means that we have a purpose and a calling. God has a unique plan for our lives, and He has equipped us with gifts and talents to fulfill that plan. As we walk with Christ, we can grow in our understanding of who we are in Him and what He has called us to do. We can find joy, peace, and fulfillment as we live out our identity as children of God and serve Him with all our heart. -
We always want to do things our way without consulting God or ask for His wisdom and guidance.
I donât know anything about my future. I don't know what tomorrow will bring. I donât even know whatâs going to happen in the next 5 minutes. Thatâs how crucial life is. But still, we plan as if we know what our tomorrow will be.. We always convince ourselves that we are invincible in any way that when being so consumed, we often forget Who writes our story.
We have this idea in our head that once we submit ourselves to Him, we wonât be able to do things however we want to. Isnât it slavery? Submitting yourself in everything you do about every time. I donât want to do it âcause when things get rough, I donât need someone to blame!
First of all, itâs not slavery. Submitting yourself to God isnât losing your freedom.
We are not aware that we are getting rebellious until we know there Someone greater than us. Jesus said in John 15:5, âApart from me you can do nothing.â I know this triggers a lot of people because thereâs this belief in us that quote I am worthy. I am special. I am the master of my own plans in lifeâ which is good actually. We plan and we think we are worthy. But how long is that going to sustain us in this world? This belief doesnât last. Believe me or not, we all get tired and discouraged in almost everything we do.
And mostly because of our selfishness, we often bottle it up. Godâs presence is the only place that can fully satisfy us. The very place where we can experience perfect peace. Now, how do we really submit to God? Itâs simple. Have faith in Him. Yes, it sounds like, really? Nothing other than that? Yes, my friends. Because by faith, we learn how to get to know Him. We will know how to seek Him. We will be determined to follow His voice. I know this is a lot to take in for now.
But basically, submission is accepting that you are Godâs creation. His child whom He really loves. Submitting yourself to God means acknowledging Him as your Lord and Savior. Have you ever done that before? Have you asked God to come into your heart? Have you asked God to lead the way?
And have you ever tried fully trusting Him in all of His ways? Ask yourself, do I want God? Do I want righteousness? Do I want Peace? Do I want unconditional love? Because no one has it and no one can give you those other than Jesus.
If you need to be somewhere right now, that place should be Godâs presence. So close your eyes and say these words with me. Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name. Amen.
Welcome to the New You! I hope to see you next week!
