Today's episode I'm throwing it back to a Baeksang Awards nominated Kdrama: School 2013 from 2013, of course! This drama isn't your fun high school Kdrama, it's one of those realistic ones, and yet, it's still one of my favorites. I had such a meaningful and moving experience rewatching this drama after 11 years and was almost a little surprised at how this drama means much more to me now than it did the first time I watched it. My time discussing this drama in this episode is the biggest testament to why I'm even doing this season of Throwing it Back!

I'm not sure if anyone's ever seen this hour-long drama special from KBS, but I think it's a a gem of a drama directed by Goblin's Lee Eung Bok and written by our infamous Yoon Nan Joong. It's a gem of a story and I had a lovely time retelling the drama special in this Throwing it Back episode.

After a short break from my Throwing it Back episodes, we return with another classic, 2003's Summer Scent. It's one of the four "Endless Love" dramas, albeit the least popular one, but for me it was the first that I watched from this Hallyu Wave-inciting drama series. So, it only seemed right to return to it for this season!

As we know, in this season of the podcast, we're jumping around the past 20+ years of Kdramaland to find and rediscover what it is about these small screen masterpieces that make us love and appreciate them so much. But with today's episode, I officially am discussing one of those pivotal Kdramas for me in my Kdrama journey. It's a drama that I unfortunately spend over two hours talking about in this episode because of this very fact. It's also a podcast episode about a drama that gives almost episode-by-episode spoilers...so proceed with caution! Today’s episode is my final episode of 2023 and season 3 of Lola Pops Off about Kdramas Podcast! To be honest, I had a little bit of difficulty finishing up this episode and even considered not sharing it in light of recent news. But I decided that I still wanted to share my year of Kdramas with you. This is also the third year of me hosting my very own Kdrama Awards and I wanted to stay true to this tradition of the podcast.
Not to mention, this episode is like another love song to the year of Kdramas and my time with you—so thank you all, yet again, for an amazing year with all the Kdramas we watched and popped off about together. I hope your year in Kdramas was a wonderful one and that you’re already looking forward to a new year in Kdramaland.
