It is cattail season, wherever you may be, in Michigan. Those beautiful long blades of green have a lot of useful properties and things you may not even have heard of. They can be food. They can make baskets. And they're home to wildlife and insects. They are a vital part of the ecosystem. And they're so fluffy. Let's give a good look at these because they're really cool.--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/detroit-conjure-llc-festi/support

It's a beautiful day and let's try something new. I love watching my hair when I'm feeling in a kind of bleh mood. I love giving myself a little extra treat with the pretty sense and the soft lather but what I love most of all as part of the process is the conditioner. A good conditioner can lift your mood. And I'm going to tell you how to make your own homemade conditioner so that you can actually make it smell like whatever you like. As a bonus I'm also including a quick formula for homemade shampoo as well. Let's get started!--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/detroit-conjure-llc-festi/support

Let's share a recipe for 7UP pound cake. This cake has a lot of cultural relevance to the holiday of June 10th. However, it's not about just a cake made with a soft drink. There's other facets to how special this recipe is. Memories and hand it down appreciations from family reunions of the past. We're having a special podcast family recipe share. There's no one else I'd love to share this recipe with more than our airwave shire. We also are going to talk a little bit about the cakewalk, just because.Special thanks to Music by Chaowarin Phuttarat from Pixabay.Music by Chaowarin Phuttarat from Pixabay--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/detroit-conjure-llc-festi/support

What do you do with 5 lb of fermented cherries? Well, let's find out together. Whether it's making ink, or possibly using it to die some sheets and pillowcases, let's see what happens. Sometimes the unexpected can lead to unexpected opportunities. Not everything is a win. But a fail is nothing more than a chance to try again. This is the bonus episode. In many of our episodes over the years together, we've mentioned Faygo. I love Faygo. But for many of you, you don't really know what it might be if you've never encountered it. Faygo is an iconic soda company founded in 1907 in Detroit.Let's chat about it, 80's hair, and memories of ICP costumes.Special thanks to #Serge Quadrado Music for the song "clown panic".#Serge Quadrado Music #Faygo #Detroit--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/detroit-conjure-llc-festi/support

Today we're going to talk about the pants stretchers. There are a couple of kinds. And it's a forgotten item that many people are still using but if you've never heard of it it might be something to look into you for your own laundry needs. It definitely cuts down on ironing in one version. The other will definitely help you with that extra piece of pie you might have had. If your closet has a tendency to shrink your clothing, this episode is definitely for you. Shout out to Faygo, "I'm Pretty 2", and vinegar. #impretty2 #Faygo--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/detroit-conjure-llc-festi/support

If you are a fan of lemony flavors, pickles, and squash, this is the recipe for you! This is one of my original recipes, and I wanted to share it with you because I'm planting lemon verbena. Or actually, my husband Planted lemon verbena. But I helped. We have a stash of lemon verbena that could terrify most herbalists. And that's partly because I use it for my asthma. But eating things flavored with it is even more delightful. Let's get started.--- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/detroit-conjure-llc-festi/support

Hurry before it's too late. All the things are blossoming but the weather is trying to make the blossoms close all too soon. It's not too late for most of us though. We're using crabapple blossoms, apple blossoms, forsythia blossoms, and cherry blossoms. Maybe a redbud might creep into this as well. Grab those blossoms and add them to your deviled eggs recipes for pretty pretty tasty snack. One of my fondest memories is sharing vanilla wafers with my dad. On a rainy day I want to make vanilla wafers and share some memories with you. And also warm up the house a bit. This is the time of year when we look at garden catalogs and we decide what we're going to plant. Well sweet greens are preferable to many pallets I find that a little bit of bitterness adds value to flavor. I'm also including my kitchen pepper remedy in this episode. But because I know some of you aren't always near a pen I'm going to write it here in the description. One part dehydrated sorrel, one part dehydrated catmint, and three parts lime pepper.
