Ep 152 - 165: Crime scene investigation - locate the missing plot and underlying objectives of the One Piece main cast. This is a deeply mysterious and troubling case with no leads, witnesses or obvious motives. Luckily, we have Nico Robin who is at least doing something productive by uncovering and protecting the ancient secrets of Skypeia. This is the closest our podcast will ever be to showing up in the true crime algorithm, you'll have to listen to find out why! We also discuss Gaia, Gondwana, Baby Reindeer, and the popular trend of insidious storytelling that exploits today's audiences' most dominant emotional state: anxiety. Have creators really run out of good things to say about the human condition? Save us, Straw Hats!

Ep125-152: Finally we have an intro song! Does it turn you into rubber and make you bounce up and down in fits of unabashed ecstasy? Wow!! We're back from our trip to Korea and Japan where we learned how little we have in common with some of the One Piece fans who lurk in the corridors of anime merch stores lecherously ogling the WRONG bodyparts of Nico Robin. And ummmmmm, there's a beautiful poem in this episode too.

Episodes 101-130: Choose your fighter as each character pairs up to defeat the real main cast of the show, the Baroque Works. We pay respects to motion design, a-typical character traits and Nico Robin. Her disembodied, limp-wristed hands hold back armies, invoke nightmares, dreams (ours) and steal the show.
-
Ep 93-103: After surviving the wrath of Mother Nature after being lost in a gorge, our resolve has been fortified and we face the heavily trodden trope of queer-coded villains with renewed zeal. While these episodes are over 20 years old, we are yet able find redemption in the queer and pathologically unhinged Baroque Works collective. And come across an oasis in the middle of the Arabian desert which gives us hope that cultural appropriation can be nice, kind of? Also, Mariah Carey???
-
Eps 68-90: We ate the flop flop devil fruit and it gave us the special power of having low energy while recording this episode. We actually do some editing in this episode to try and cover up the flop. Does it work? Maybe. But if Oda is allowed entire seasons of filler episodes, we're allowed a filler episode too.

In news that will surprise no one, we spend most of the episode talking about our beloved, bussin female characters because they're the only ones who matter. It's all about Nami but has anyone actually asked her how she is? We also observe profound beauty in these episodes and in a shocking podcast development, we cry (off-camera).

To depict women in fiction with or without rizz? We attempt to find a balance of women participating in action and adventure who would like to feel confident and slay while also being practically equipped to fight pirates. Also we unpack the inner sadness of the lonely and afraid Roronoa Zoro (love that name)... and some exciting bird discussions..!

Of a child whiche somtyme kepte sheep the whiche cryed ofte withoute cause.
We discuss, tepidly, h*rny listener questions///????? And also spend as much time possible talking about Aesop's Fables instead of One Piece. And the announcement of our new favourite character name (EXCITING!). -
How do you save a besieged town from clowns shooting cannonballs, and samurais on unicycles throwing spinning tops? Apparently with an ugly straw hat. Join us as we try to make sense of our magical world where enchanted fruit and sneaky girls are the keys to power.

Wow, our first episode recapping the class fractured, complex and ijbol world of One Piece. Join us as we discuss things like the hero complex, queer-coded villains, "fridging", and should we really be recapping 1,000 episodes of this ridiculous show and bring shame and cringe upon our friends and family? This episode recaps episode 1-3 of season 1 of the Japanese anime series currently available on Netflix.
