Not sure why Tony keeps coming back as a guest but he keeps "YES". This is great, because Dan can't find anyone else to hop on the show. The guys talks about Tonys mental state and how it is affected by the hate-filled death metal he listens to, how horrible of a softball coach he is, and what it's like being managed by someone who is younger and less experienced than him. Dan expresses his opinion on Mark Kenyon's facial hair, practicing baseball with his son, and how many dead bodies they each have seen.
Then, for the last 20 mins of the show the guys take a deep dive in to how they approach e-scouting public public for out-of-state hunts. Anytime Tony hops on the show, it is full of randomness, exciting topics, and complete nonsense . Enjoy and Share!!

If you live in the midwest or the south and haven't done any scouting this year, I hate to say it, but you missed out on the perfect time of the year to scout. With that said scouting now is still better than no scouting at all. On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan gives his opinions about what we should all be doing right now to find better hunting locations for the fall. Dan talks about when trail cameras should go up, locating terrain features through e-scouting vs. boots on the ground, and knowing that just because deer are in a specific area right now, doesn't mean that they will be there come hunting season. On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Travis Coulter of Kentucky shares a story about his father and a big velvet buck. The underlying topic of this episode is alcoholism and how it destroyed the life of a fellow hunter. Travis talks about going hunting with his father when he was a youngster until his drinking got so bad that his uncle had to step in and put him under his wing. Both Travis's uncle and father played their role building an outdoor foundation for Travis. Fast forward to 2019, alcohol finally caught up with his father and he suffered a major heart attack he was unable to recover from. The next year Travis bought a farm. And under a huge oak tree in the middle of an open field, Travis placed his fathers ashes along with a wooden cross.
2021 came and Travis decided to place an extension ladder in that oak tree that he planned to saddle hunt out of. On opening day, September 5th, Travis connected on a big velvet buck from that tree. He's convinced his father was there the whole time and helped him seal the deal on this buck!

On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan chats with Zach Gregory of Michigan about his love for hunting public land. The first season he went to hunt public with a ladder stand , and although he tagged out, his gut told him there was something more. As many of you know and depending on where you live, hunting public land comes with its own set of challenges. This is Zach's story, ENJOY & SHARE!
