  • What an absolute pleasure to spend an hour on #NoSuggestionPod with the treasure of Brooklyn, actor, puppeteer, chef, teleprompter operator, rapper, producer, husband, stand-up and improv comedian Mariel Grullon (@jezusthebodegacat). Co-host Christopher Morucci (@christophermorucci) and I count ourselves privileged to chat with our beloved friend Mariel this week about being from Brooklyn, being prompted to start improv by Ray Cordova of Astronomy Club as both were inspired by Donald Glover, how Mariel and his wife Jodi met, the original Super Mario Brothers movie, not feeling confident as a youth, and running the teleprompter at CBS news for 19 hrs straight the day of the election.

    We also get a myriad of wild and absurd improv comedy scenes in, including a rare and intimate backstage audience with jazz legend Louis Armstrong.

  • A pleasure and an honor to on #NoSuggestionPod this week not only an luminary of the infamous Kings of Karaoke, but an alum of Radio Free Brooklyn, actor, podcaster, karaoke host, entrepreneur, rapper, singer, musician, husband, dad, and improv comedian, Elann Danziger (@danceathonelann)! We welcome back our original co-host, Xavier Pearson (@oloixavier), for a visit as we get to know Elann's compelling origin story.

    Elann tells us about moving to NYC in the aughts, getting into the karaoke scene, starting his show on Radio Free Brooklyn which explored people's archives of audio recordings of their childhood, Lost and Rewound, which ran for 5 years, youth, his start as an artist, and how he met his wife. It's an inspiring, epic tale, breathlessly told.

    We also do some really wonderfully funny improv this episode, including a scene about a plucky skateboard punk who inspires some jaded old businessmen. Xavier and I really had fun learning about Elann on this podcast, and we think you will too. Enjoy it!

  • WE'RE BACK! After a 3 month summer haitus, your beloved #NoSuggestionPod is back!   • Our last episode before a little hiatus for the summer, we're so glad to end this season of #NoSuggestionPod with a big bang! This week's guest is the exuberant, vivacious, bold, and bright actor, teacher, and improv comedian, Kim Alu (@alu_who)!   • Delighted and thrilled to have the lovely teacher, actor, mom, and improv comedian, Irene Carroll (@andsceneirene) on #NoSuggestionPod this week. I've been pursuing Irene to come on the podcast for a long time because she's so sweet and so fun, and because I'm always so in awe of people who are parents who are very involved with raising their family, who still find ways to make time for their interests and creativity.
