Whether things are working out as you planned and hoped, or whether life (as it does) ignored your intentions and is doing its own thing, this episode is for you.

It's a phrase I've learned to love and carry with me: "hold the tension." But it's been a work in my life; possibly it always will be. Wherever we land, there is always some tension we have to hold-- exhaustion and gratitude, love and grief, discipline and acceptance. A few minutes seems a meager starting place to talk about this, but we are going to try.
I would love to hear what tensions you're holding and hold them with you. Confessing and witnessing these things are a huge part of growing through them. Please do email me at [email protected]
**On a sidenote, I'm taking a social media hiatus, and if you're interested in hearing more, let me know! I'm certainly going to share some in written form on the blog, but I can share on here as well.

If your heart leaps at the idea of becoming more free and less bound by things like shame or worry, this is for you. I'm a freedom-junkie, both cheering and crying when we get to talk about it. (If you can hear me tear up at one point, that's why.)

We are constantly growing, especially as we allow God to work in our lives, and growth means our thought patterns will need to be consistently "upgraded." But shame and fear and discomfort would love for that to be a difficult process. So we'll talk about it a little bit in this episode, shaking off the mindset that we can't change our minds in the loving presence of God.

Disclaimer: You don't have to have any plants to listen to this episode, ha!
As we reflect backward and plan forward, I want to focus on our perspective around progress and growth and God's involvement in it all. However you feel about the last year or this one to come, I hope this helps you and encourages you to find peace right now.
As always, there's a mini meditation to take with you at the end. If you join my newsletter, I will send you phone wallpaper with the meditation at the beginning of each week. Go to sarahannrogers.com to sign up! -
I love and crave moments quiet, though I know that's not the same from everyone. Either way, I believe there is a lot to be learned about God and ourselves when silence is present (whether we sought it or it came unbidden).
This week, I want to share and explore the lessons silence teaches for me personally as well as universally. Wherever you land on the spectrum of introversion to extroversion, I hope you can find something calming here.

Our lives don't have to look perfect for us to struggle a little bit with our own brands of perfectionism. And things don't have to be falling apart for us to feel like we are carrying failure within our bodies, minds, or hearts.
If this is you, I pray you can take a breath and release for just a few minutes. From a woman who fully understands how this feels (but also doesn't feel overcome by it anymore), let's talk about it today.

I feel a need to put it in all caps -- THIS IS THE FIRST OFFICIAL EPISODE of Nothing Required! (I'm excited, and I'm hopeful.)
Do you feel at capacity? Do you imagine an ideal self or life that you don't feel will ever be real? I hope these few minutes bring a little peace to your soul around the idea of limitations (accepting them and expanding them, both).
