  • As we brainstorm to truly start fleshing out the world, we find multiple seeds have been planted that are ready to expand and to grow. The main purpose of this episode was to choose a magic system, which we have called Aether, in which he finally did. With this magic system in place, this helped expand multiple ideas and plant the seeds for future expansion. We have not chosen what it does but not what its full limitations are. I also ask which mythological creatures would work well in space.

Using an example from a previous episode on using the internet and websites for help, we use a Reddit post (link below) that gives examples of magic systems. I also give advice that Patrick Rothfuss (author of King Killer Chronicles) gives on World Building. I also attempt to perform micro brainstorming sessions and micro pieces of advice on all the magic systems presented.

  • We are finally going to talk about Magic Systems. In this episode, we are going to focus of the Sanderson Laws, a system created by fantasy author Brand Sanderson, to help explain some guidelines when it comes to creating a Magic System. I want to clearly state that everything mentioned in this episode is based on the magic system lecture video of Brandon Sanderson (link in the description below). As my favorite author, I believe that there laws have a lot to give and to think about. We also lay the ground worker and starting points of how our Magic System is going to work which will be explored more next week.

I take time to attempt to think out loud my process and reasoning behind my decisions so that you guys have an idea of what I am trying to create.
