Recapping and consolidating season 2🎁
I share a story of a break-up, heart-break (heart-opening) and a mental breakdown (breakthrough).
This is the story of the moral. I hope it gives life and relevance to the beautiful lessons season 2 has offered us.

It's my birthday tomorrow!
And I'm thinking about how thin the lines between birth and death and life are
(and how the human tradition of birthday celebration is actually strange)

"What if I give Jesus the wheel and we end up crashing?"
In this episode, I share the more chaotic side of the conversation around surrender. Don't be fooled into thinking it's all sunshine and daisies and you'll never suffer again. Instead, realise that the suffering of surrender might hurt less (and even be more magical) than the hurt of attachment/aversion. Pick your flavour...

"To open myself up to God is to invite the big orgasmic, electric current, wanting to happen in and through me"
On Jesus and St Teresa of Avila. On bearing witness to suffering and letting it pierce our hearts. On being the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Humans (unconsciously) desire pain, suffering, hatred and crime. The desire become extremely dangerous when it is unconscious.
And why is it unconscious? Because we pretend to be "civil/holy/clean" humans and end up discarding our "dirt"... to our own detriment.
[unscripted, raw and straight from my heart to yours]
"No one is just one person, you, for example, are both Cain and Abel"-Josè Saramago, Cain (2009)
P.S: I was actually so afraid of speaking about this.

"God is with me when I'm doom-scrolling on Instagram while taking a dump." God is with me always.
In this episode, we explore the idea of dirt as a cultural phenomenon that establishes order, power relations and cultural dynamic. In every culture, dirt is loathed, rejected and condemned. But what if dirt is natural, or it makes us who we are? What if Dirtiness is Next to Godliness?

Everything I said in episode 1 is true. And the opposite is also... true. Let's play a bit of devil's advocate and find ways to hold polar opposites as true in our hearts. Putting self-responsibility and self-compassion in one basket, creating a magical and revolutionary paradox.

Long time no see, my friends!
I am back from a much needed hiatus and we’re kicking off Season 2 with a huge caveat for whenever things get... political.
Let’s be honest, it’s quite difficult to observe the human condition and to be Right Where We Are without noticing that everything (and I mean e👏🏾ve👏🏾ry👏🏾thing👏🏾) is intrinsically connected to the realm of the socio-political.
In this episode, we explore a new way of thinking/talking about politics that is not divisive and does not result in more conflict. This is a paradigm shifting perspective that can create the liberation we so deeply desire.

Hello! Welcome to season 2.
The theme for the season is Learner Human.
Because that is what I am. A Leaner Human. Awakening. Becoming. Being
I'm excited for what this journey holds for us

We did it Joe! We've come to the end of season 1 of RWYA... Or maybe we didn't do it Joe. Maybe it's too imperfect to let it come to an end. Are we really going to end the season off on episode 6? With only 3 "full" episodes, and another 3 episodes that basically say the same thing?
YES! Yes we are.
This episode is about allowing our creations to be imperfect, incomplete, messy and... human. We explore the importance of showing up imperfectly, in the fullness of our human expression.
In fact, this was the very lesson the spirit of Right Where You Are wanted to teach. And I'm grateful to have had that be the first.
To many more🥂
Khanyisa

“SHAME ON YOU!” It seems the whole world is constantly screaming these words at us. “You are unworthy, invalid, inferior.”
This episode takes place at the gym, and I speak about shame and my theories on its origins in human history. I then add my take on it as an unhealthy and unnatural emotion, and definitely not an effective one.
This one’s long and filled with some academic references. I’ve added a bibliography below. I’ve also created a Guide on my Instagram (@khanyis.isibhakabhaka). Otherwise, enjoy. And feel free to shoot me a DM with your own opinions or arguments on this.
With love
Khan

This episode takes place in my bedroom, in my childhood home. We dive into the concept of taking up space and some of my philosophical takes on this phenomenon. I then share a bit of my own story on my decision to take up space by allowing my ideas and desires come to life, including the idea of this podcast.
With much love
Khanyisa
