Well, I call B.S.
In this episode, we define attachment parenting and sleep training, and talk about how they can live together. What would it look like to respond to your child's needs while sleep training? How can you instill independence in your child while ensuring they feel confident and secure?
These are all things we talk about in this episode!

As I shared in the last episode, growing up, I didn't have a great relationship with sleep.
After a few traumatic events (including waking up outside in the middle of the night), going to sleep terrified me.
The truth is, your older kid may not feel safe in their room for a number of reasons, and that can prevent them from getting the sleep they need. In this episode, I'm sharing a few tips to get your brain gears turning to think through ways to help your older kid feel more secure in their room.

Knowing what your child is dealing with and seeking out help for them can make a world of difference for years to come.
Thank you so much for listening in!

In this episode, we’re not talking about child sleep much. Instead, we’re talking about some thing that’s been sitting on my mind and heart recently — your mental health.
I am not a medical mental health professional, and this podcast is not loaded with steps to decrease your anxiety or improve your mental health. Rather it’s a raw, unscripted talk about how I’ve struggled and a few things that have helped me.
The most important thing I hope you take away from this episode is that it's okay to put your needs first sometimes.
In fact, it's essential.

Fair warning: In this episode, we're not getting into baby sleep.
Lately, I've felt stuck in a season of overwhelm. So much to the point of inaction. Laundry is piling up. Dishes are disgusting. I just can't even take action to start because of how much work it will take to complete.
Last week, I saw a post on Facebook that told a little story about a woman who found a mindset shift. Instead of focusing on the entire task, she focused on just the start.
I've adopted that mindset and it's helped pull me from the overwhelm and has given me the "roadmap" for just starting.
If you have found yourself in a similar rut, please listen to this episode, and then find me on Instagram and tell me what step forward you're taking today.

It's the big question: Is sleep training bad for my baby? And if it's not, then why are they crying?
I get down into the WHY behind the tears. In no way am I saying sleep training is the only way. But if it is for your family, it's not bad. Or wrong. I mention two studies in this episode, and you can find those here:

It's no secret that I believe sleep can be life changing. And just as some families may benefit from a lactation consultant, a doula, or a newborn care specialist, some families may benefit from a sleep consultant partnering with their family.
But what can you expect when you hire a consultant?
While all consultants are different, in this episode, I share a few commonalities you'll find when you partner with any sleep consultant.
