We have a chat with ultra runner Simon Byrne. Simon has run some of the biggest ultra marathon's in not just Australia but the world. He is also a well credentialed running coach with the Mile 27 coaching group, a founder of the Byron Bay Runners club and has recently completed an epic adventure around the Mt Warning caldera in northern NSW.

Darce catches up with Victorian ultra marathon runner Shane Gillard. Shane shares his story of weight loss and how it lead him to running. He takes us on his journey from life as a 188kg bakery manager to completing a 100km running event. Shane is an absolute inspiration and living proof that through running people can completely transform their physical and mental health.

Craig Watson comes on to speak to us about the Walking for Warriors Endurance Challenge and how supporting Young Veterans has helped him improve himself.
Craig talks about how he has found of love of running and endurance adventures that drive him to test himself physically and mentally. We talk about veteran mental health and how we both found new identities through running and community sports once we left the Army.
Craig takes us through how got into running and ultra marathons, even though he struggled to identify himself as a runner for a long time and considers himself a back of the pack runner.

Here it is. The offical (or not) 5 toughest ultra marathons in Australia.
Jimmy and Darce discuss what makes an ultra marathon tough and between them they come up with a list that they think ranks the top 5. This is highly contentious, contains loose as criteria and probably blatant disregard to some really tough ultras in Aus.
Once the Top 5 is settled, Jim provides some great information about a really important piece of work he is doing to help eradicate child exploitation through Project Rescue Children and Op Unicorn.

This episode we spoke with Benita Willis, the current Australian 10,000m and Marathon record holder (along with 8 other national records) and the only Australian ever to win gold at World Cross Country Championships. Ben and special guest host Kat Cacavas discuss some of Benita's experiences at the highest level of our sport.

Karin (Kaz) Tappouras is a remarkable lady and runner. Having run over 240 offical marathons to date, Kaz tells us about where running started for her, what keeps her running and also what she is now doing to help others.

Jimmy and Darce speak to Stephen Wright, an ultra runner, grandfather and lover of the really long stuff. Steve has completed numerous big ultra marathons and multi day events.

Ben got to have a solo chat with Tony Smith while Jimmy was away.
Tony is a seasoned marathon and ultra runner living in Perth Western Australia. Running has always been part of Tony's life including during his 24+ years of military service in the British Army.
Now based in Australia, Tony continues to improve as a distance runner having set his marathon PB just last year.
