Scandinavian Crimes (w/ Devante & Delila)

    Years of Incident: 2002 - 2003
    Location: Finland
Cannibal and Murderers: Virpi Butt and Janne Hyvönen
    Victim(s): 2
    Method: Stabbing, Cannibalism, Murder

Virpi Butt, formerly recognized as the TV gladiator Timantti, and Janne Hyvönen were found guilty of murder and received life sentences. This horrific crime in Pirk-kala led to their infamy as the dismemberment killers.

Towards the end of the decade, Virpi's behavior took a dark turn. She became known in Tampere's bars for her confrontational attitude towards men. Subsequently, her criminal record shows a pattern of escalating misconduct in the late 90s and early 2000s, with serious charges of drunk driving in 2002 marking a troubling culmination.

    Years of Incident: 1995 - 2010
    Location: Finland
    Serial Killer: Esa Åkerlund
    Victim(s): 4-5
    Method: Aggravated Assault, Shooting

Esa Åkerlund, born on 5 July 1969, is a Finnish serial killer with a troubling criminal history. Initially, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for the 1995 murder of his ex-wife. Despite being paroled, he went on to commit a triple murder in 2010, resulting in a 15-year sentence. This pattern of violent behavior raises concerns about the effectiveness of the criminal justice system in preventing repeat offenses and protecting society from individuals with a history of severe violence.

    Years of Incident: 2014-2016
    Location: Sweden
Murderer: Johanna Möller (aka The Arboga Woman)
    Victim(s): 2-3
    Method: Murder, Manipulation

In August 2016, Sweden was rattled by a gruesome family tragedy named the Arboga murder. A man was discovered brutally stabbed to death, and his wife severely wounded in a summer house near Arboga. Their daughter Johanna was accused of the murder which is unusual for a mother of six with no criminal history. However, the narrative of the infamous "Arboga woman" doesn't commence with murder, but with an entirely different tale.

This tale consists of manipulation, gaslighting, and full-blown narcissism. This story tells how Johanna's desire to get what she wants by any means necessary.

Scandinavian Crimes (w/ Devante & Delila)

In the context of a crime, the distinction between a murderer and a mastermind lies in their roles and levels of direct involvement in the unlawful activities. A murderer carries out the violent act of taking a life, while a mastermind is the architect behind a sophisticated criminal plan, often involving multiple individuals and elements.

It is important to note that both murderers and masterminds can be held accountable for their actions under the law, with legal consequences commensurate with their level of involvement and culpability in the crime. Understanding these distinctions helps in accurately describing and attributing responsibility to individuals involved in criminal activities based on their roles and contributions to the unlawful acts.

    Years of Incident: 1984 - 1998
    Location: Norway
    Wrongful Conviction: Atle Hage
    Victim(s): 1
Method: Sexual Assault (includes aggravated), Wrongful Conviction

In 1984, Atle Hage faced a wrongful conviction for sexually abusing his son and daughter, resulting in a three-year prison sentence. The conviction stemmed solely from his ex-wife's allegations during a tumultuous divorce. Despite Atle Hage's children vehemently denying the abuse, they were prohibited from testifying in his defense at trial due to psychologists deeming it potentially traumatic. Tragically, after his release, Hage struggled to restore his tarnished reputation and tragically took his own life at the age of 40 in 1987.

    Years of Incident: 1978 - 2008
    Location: Norway
    Wrongfully Convicted: Fritz Moen
    Victim(s): 1
    Method: Wrongful Conviction

Fritz Yngvar Moen was a Norwegian man wrongfully convicted of two distinct murders, serving a total of 18 years in prison. After the convictions were quashed, an official inquiry was instigated to establish what had gone wrong in the authorities' handling of the case, and on June 25th, 2007. The commission delivered harsh criticism to the police, the prosecution, as well as the courts for what was immediately termed Norway's worst miscarriage of justice of all time.

Moen was deaf and had a severe speech impediment. He was also partially paralyzed but had normal intelligence and good memory.

Families of people who were buried in a pauper's field next to the Hinds County Penal Farm near Jackson, Miss., are calling for a federal investigation into the burials, which took place without families being notified. With their attorney now saying the field holds hundreds more graves, the families want a full accounting of the bodies buried there.

The issue became national news last fall when several families said they had waited months to hear about a missing loved one only to learn their relative had died months earlier and were buried in a grassy field, their graves marked only by a metal tag bearing a number. Their attorney, civil rights lawyer Ben Crump, says he believes many more people were buried under similar circumstances.
