A veritable shapeshifter of a tune, boss man Steve’s latest morphs and melds, mixes and mutates, making merry mischief made for maximum musical momentum.
‘Be Happy’ can be read in many different ways – suggestion, request, even instruction. In this instance, let us not over-analyse – what we’re dealing with is a multi-faceted humdinger of a house tune whose very raison d’etre is to induce a state of happiness.
Steve deftly manipulates layer upon layer of elements into a euphoric and cohesive whole. Riffs tease then erupt, bass burbles and bounces, percussion cracks then takes a pause, ushering in a breakdown for the ages. ’Be Happy’ is by turns simple yet complex, busy then stripped back, heads down chugger meets hands in the air anthem.
Ultimately it delivers big time on its titular promise – and for that we can all be thankful…and, indeed, happy.

And theres more! When you have two killer cuts and two amazing vocalists, myriad options present themselves. What twists and turns can we take with these beauties to help spread the word of their sonic luminescence further and wider? Thus, we proudly present part two of our The Call / Rollin On double header. Having previously unleashed two epic versions of The Call in Andrews original full vocal and instrumental versions, three more interpretations here complete a hard hitting five-star collection. Jim Rivers, veteran of Bedrock and Renaissance and more recently heard killing it on Poker Flat, takes the road more dubby, with snatches of Andres vocal teased in and around an altogether tougher re-rub that will undoubtedly find favour in the darker recesses of discerning dancefloors far and wide, as it builds towards its epic crescendo. The Ambient mix has already found favour with chill out dons Pete Gooding and Phat Phil Cooper – this beatless beauty will be soundtracking a White Isle sunset near you soon. Meanwhile the Radio Edit distils the wondrous essence of the lengthy main version into four magnificent minutes. Meanwhile Mr Sant continues to spoil us, delivering an acidic throbber of a dub excursion on Rollin On, a perfect complement to the full vocal version, with just enough of Paulines vocal exhortations to ensure recognition and exhilaration.

It might be an impossibly beautiful chord progression…a haunting vocal…a simple bassline throb…some intricate percussion…or all of the above and more. What we love about house, techno and all the flavours inbetween is how, more than any other form of music, they can stop you in your tracks, induce goosebumps on the spot, and leave you saying to anyone who is within earshot – what is that track / have you heard THIS / where the hell can I get it? Thats why we do what we do, pure and simple. And Andrew Sant has delivered not one, but two tunes which do all of the above by the truckload. The Call first reared its head on our Showcase 20 collection, and instantly demanded a stand-alone release. Andre Espeuts oh so soulful vocal – part sung / part spoken – allied to Andrews exquisite piano motifs are house music at its most timeless and pure. This release includes its brand new mastering, and also features an instrumental version that is dynamite in its own right. And theres more! Rollin On sees Andrew team up with another brilliant vocalist, no less than Pauline Taylor, famous for her work with Rollos Cheeky stable in the 90s, and more recently with leading house imprints Classic, Nervous and F*CLR. A characteristically powerhouse vocal performance rides atop a stirring, peak time acid-tinged monster. Special stuff folks - and watch out for remixes / alternate takes coming on a second, follow up EP!

Lonya feat SNYL – Ultimate Sin / Synthetic Dreams - Selador
Early support from Cristoph, AFFKT, Gai Barone, Anthony Pappa, BOg, Kasey Taylor
It’s become a bit of a tradition down Selador way that our much-loved Showcase releases produce break out tracks that generate a right old buzz and get a stand-alone release. And lo, it’s Lonya’s turn to join that select company.
‘Ultimate Sin’ first saw the light of day on the mixed version of our Showcase 20 release, premiered by a somewhat excited Dave Seaman & Anthony Pappa. Instantly turning heads and leading to oodles of “when can I get my hands on that beauty?” messages pinging their way to HQ, rather than release it on one of the subsequent unmixed EPs, we challenged Lonya to give us another track of equal stature to create a dynamite double header.
Not only did he do just that, but he only went and roped in his pal SNYL. The resulting collab ‘Synthetic Dreams’ is a propulsive, acid-peppered call to dancefloor action. The very definition of heads down, let’s go business as a mesmeric vocal wail sits atop an hypnotic groove that just doesn’t let go. Synthetic by name, but as real as electronic music gets in nature.
And ‘Ultimate Sin’? All we can say is, if you’re familiar with Dave and Anthony’s mix, you know what’s coming, and will be suitably bubbling over with anticipation. And if not…well folks, a sonic treat awaits. Just let the riff draw you in, pull you all over the shop, and take up residence in your twisted but oh so grateful cranium. Masterful.

Support from Nick Warren, AFFKT, Anthony Pappa, Just Her, Audio Junkies, and of course form Dave Seaman and Steve ParryJonathan Cowan is an OG of the scene Stateside, particularly in his native Florida, where he gave a certain Dave Seaman his first US residency back in 1998, and to this day remains a kingpin of that week in March when the dance music cognoscenti descend upon Miami. With these two transatlantic amigos and like-minded souls having been (ahem) brothers in rhythm for nigh on three decades now, it was only right & proper that some of JCâs studio excursions would find their way to Selador. And so it was. The achingly beautiful âAldenâs Grooveâ was first, debuting on our Sweet Sixteenth Showcase in 2022, and then followed by âSwaddlesâ which graced our Seventeenth Instalment in 2023. At the time we described it as âtip top electronic headfuckeryâ, and some two years on, we ainât changed our minds. So naturally weâre pleased as proverbial punch to now unveil a brand-new double-header from JC.âSlaterâ is first up, as clever as it is insanely catchy. It wears several 90s influences proudly on its sleeve (think âFrench Kissâ meets Desertâs seminal âMoodsâ and youâre part way there), while wrapping everything up in a warm 2025 blanket of sound. Listen now, thank us slater ;)On the flipside, âSawyerâ kicks off with a pure 80s Chicago bassline riding that Windy City wave, before Moroder-esque wonktastic riffage joins the fray and takes hold of the dance floor. So high indeed.Tried and tested by both Messrs Seaman & Parry, these two meticulously crafted gems have been staples of their sets for the past few months but donât just take our word for it, judge for yourselves.
