As I wrap-up Season 7, I share about how my "Grow More in 2024" theme applies to the Sharing Passion and Purpose Podcast by growing the conversation through Live Events. I started an in-person live podcast event for women to come together to connect, learn and grow called "Conversations with Passion and Purpose". I also announce the next date of the in-person event in the fall (It's September 13th!) with my guest, Amy Siegfried, CEO & Co-Founder of Last Night's Game. The topic we'll discuss is how to find your key differentiator professionally and/or personally to identify your competitive edge, create confidence through sports and the art of making small talk.
If you are interested in learning more about being a sponsor of an upcoming in-person event, there are several options available! Please email me directly: [email protected] to learn about these opportunites to share more about your product and business.
Also, I'm taking a break this summer to plan for Season 8. If you have any guests that you want me to reach out to, please email me or send a DM! See you again on August 20th!

Summer can be a busy time for parents. Between work, camp, daycare, sports, and the menagerie of other activities that occur during the summer months, it can be difficult to juggle it all. This month we’re visiting with a Mom who is looking to empower other working Mothers to reclaim their time, energy and well-being.
Danielle Melton is the Founder of MOTHERboard, an online community of supportive, dynamic and driven moms. Following it’s inception, this organization, rooted in Tulsa, quickly gained momentum among working moms across the globe. Part of the appeal of this organization is being a part of a supportive community and offering access to resources that help working moms curb burnout and truly thrive. In addition to starting MOTHERboard, Danielle has written a goal setting workbook and is also very active in the foster care community.

In this episode, Danielle Melton, Founder of MOTHERboard Society, and I visit about our experience attending the ALT Summit Conference for the first time.
Many of you know that I had the opportunity to speak @altsummit in Palm Springs in March and althought it was my first time attending this women’s conference, it won’t be my last. From the relaxed vibe to the excitement of being a part of an incredible community of women who understand what it’s like to be a creative entrepreneur. I met so many amazing people, including @danielleamelton, Founder @joinmotherboard, a true powerhouse, who is also from Tulsa. We didn’t know each other prior to attending the event and joked that we had to meet in California to connect in Oklahoma. I have had several people ask about my experience and if attending was “worth it” – the answer is a resounding yes – it’s worth it on so many levels, most importantly, your time and money is an investment in yourself and your professional journey.
I invited Danielle for a conversation to share more about our experiences at ALT Summit and learn her thoughts on the overall caliber of women who attend and the topics that are shared and discussed. We recorded an Instagram live and I'm now sharing the audio version. Danielle is incredible and I’m excited to share our visit with you!

Heather Matheson has built a sweet business providing Peace, Love and Cookies - appropriately the name of her business - to the Tulsa area. She started the business as a home bakery and quickly outgrew her space with her yummy cookie recipes that are baked fresh daily. With a background in social work and her business looking for a new location, it didn't take long for someone to connect her with Family and Children's Services in Tulsa and the results couldn't be sweeter. They had a commercial kitchen that they used for teaching food service skills to people in their programs.
Her employees are all a part of the Women in Recovery program and as she admits, she has built more than a business. It's early-morning therapy sessions mixed with mutual connection and support for the women who are part of her team. The result of this winning combination includes women who are building their lives to be become better and more productive for themselves and their children while breaking cycles of poverty, abuse and incarcaration.

Whitney Virden didn’t think she had a creative bone in her body until she did some soul searching following a tragic event that occurred in her family. That event instigated major reflection and life altering changes where she reprioritized her life and changed direction to focus more on her family and kids. She severed ties with her traditional 9-5 job where she traveled for work. This break allowed her time to explore a different career – one that was completely different than what she attended college for – and her love for floral design was born.
Whitney is the Owner of Roots and Blooms Floral Shop located in Bartlesville and Pawhuska, OK. Over the past few years, she has aligned herself spiritually, creatively, and emotionally and can clearly see her path to purpose. When I caught up with Whitney, she was selected to be among the floral artists in the Art in Bloom show at The Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa. This experience resulted in winning first place from the guests votes!
During this visit you’ll hear Whitney’s career path in business, how tapping into her creativity revealed her artistic heart, and why she believes that everyone has some creativity; they just have to find it!
