Today we will be talking about all things modern and artsy. Modernity is underpinned by technological advancements which redefined past ways of life. In terms of art history, what Finn and I are most familiar with, modern art encapsulates a rejection of the old and a jump to the new. So how is modernity visualised digitally? What drove the need to digitally visualise? And what are the outcomes of this digital visualisation? This isn’t an academic discussion, we encourage talks of more casual, relatable topics. We don’t expect any prior preparations, just come with your brain!
What is digitally visualised modernity? We’re focusing today on art, cinema, product graphics, gaming, social media, etc. How does this reflect modernity? Is there a modern ‘aesthetic’?What is your experience with these different types of digital visualisation? Eg with digital art, films, graphic design. How relatable is this to our daily lives? How did they come to dominate/change our day-to-day intake of information? What is the outcome of digital visualisation in this modern age? What is its impact globally? Does it benefit us? Does it increase accessibility? Does it set us back?Looking forward to having everyone listening to today's episode!
