Celey & Nora get on the mics one last time to discuss all their favorites, takeaways, and biggest surprises after 7 years of doing this podcast. Almost 280 movies later, what on earth have we learned!? Thank you for being with us and tuning in. We love you. Watch movies.
-
It is fitting that for our LAST EPISODE we finally tackle the movie that inspired the podcast. There's so much to love and so much to discuss and so much nostalgia. Plus? A perfect soundtrack. Director Carlyn Hudson and writer/fellow podcaster Becca Roth join us for one last (bike) ride!

Mangler du episoder?
-
Do all the jokes in this movie hold up? Absolutely not. But did we all find ourselves giggling more than a little? Absolutely yes. Dodgeball is a rare one, and we have comic, podcasting pro, and all-around athlete Shelby Wolstein join us for our penultimate episode!
-
Whether it's your favorite movie EVER or you find it to be a crime against humanity (both frequent opinions!) there's no denying DDG is always floating around the zeitgeist. Pod vet, Emmy winner, and DDG truther Chrissy Shackelford joins Celey & Nora to discuss a film so uniquely layered, it's one of our longest episodes ever! Strap in, and strap on your tiaras.
-
A movie with 2 titles, and at LEAST 3 different movies inside it. The cast is amazing, the outfits are sublime, and the plot is...confused. Pod vet & Replacements superfan Chloe Gatta joins the pod for one last ride!
-
What if. What IF we were excellent to each other? An absurdly hopeful and absurdly stupid film, that is somehow...charming? This is a movie that has, simply, 'no calories.' Nick Pappas joins Celey & Nora to break down everything fun about Bill & Ted, and discuss the stupidest A+'es they ever got in high school.
-
The magic of how in the heck they get there and is confusing, but the casting and visuals MORE than make up for it. Kate Shine and Zak Kamin join the pod, to make it just 4 New-Englanders wishing they could live in Stars Hollow. It's Pleasantville!
-
What better way to celebrate pride month than two queer women with very similar hair pointing out all the gay moments in Blue Crush to their very straight friend?! Real talk though, this movie is very much a product of 2002, and 'made for chicks by dudes' and we speculate wildly on the better movie we know is hiding inside the waves. Comedian Rachel Scanlon (More than Friends, ILYRS) joins Celey & producer/actress Lila Claghorn (RL Stine's Story Club, Dave.) to lay some pipe and get wet brah!
-
In a post Blackfish world, it's very strange to watch Free Willy. And yet, do we get Blackfish without FW? No, we don't. Actor Mike Cabellon (Mr. Mayor, OITNB) joins the episode to help us tackle things like paint-by-numbers movies, the oddly comforting nostalgia of 90's villains so evil they'll murder animals, and what magical friendship animal would YOU choose? Also, Free Willy is his whole name.
-
Originally released in Nov 2018, Twister is definitely a summer movie, and so? Dip back into the archives with us, at this first blush of spring. And take shelter!
-
We're back in the vault, the actual Disney vault! (Or technically, Buena Vista) and superguests slash Disney & musical aficionados Desiree Abeyta and Max Baker join us to discuss this movie that is a time capsule in so many ways, but is NOT Mary Poppins...sort of. And inspires the conversation: what on earth did they do to that cat, and which British Orphan movie are you!?
-
If you really can't see Jack Nicholson as charismatic or magnetic (spoiler: Celey can't), then you might have a hard time with this. But for Nora & special guest Bram, this Nancy Meyers flick enters alongside Under the Tuscan Sun in the 2003: Age of the Dianes. The age of gasping when startled. And turtlenecks.
-
We'll save you some time: this movie is Not Great. But EMMY WINNER Chrissy Shackelford is here to help Celey & Nora talk about all the strange ways this movie is still in the zeitgeist of today! Hilary Duff's resurgence, Christy Carlson-Romano's attempt at resurgence, and why this film is odd lesbian cannon. It's Cadet Kelly!
-
Look, the thing is you have to remember this is a PLAY. You also have to remember that it's from the 70s and also from the 90s and so much is kind of a bummer but Nathan Lane, Robin Williams, and Hank Azaria's shorts will NEVER go out of style. Comedian/Musician and Style Icon Jay Malsky takes their SGI victory lap with this episode!
-
For this one, the question is not whether it's 'still got it' (spoiler: it does) but how did it grow with us, who were we in high school, how is a movie so obsolete still so relevant? And most importantly: is there ANY other movie as *widely* quoted as this one?! Writer Ariel Karlin (Hacks, HBO) and Becca Roth (They Thought I Was You podcast) join Celey and Nora to delight in this film!
-
YES this is a silly movie for children and YES some stuff really doesn't pay off and YES at its core it's absurd but DANGIT if that dog isn't adorable and also an...amazing actor?! This movie will shamelessly and obviously pull on your heart strings and you WILL sob. Also: basketball! Podcast fave Bob Nasr joins Celey & special guest (and genuine basketball expert) comedian Vince Chang to take a closer look at this very good boy.
-
Silly, campy, sometimes heartwarming, and all times a feast for the senses, this movie passes in a dream that you may or may not register but all that matters is you tune in for the final dance. Lana Schwartz (writer, and author of 'Build Your Own Romantic Comedy') joins Celey and Nora to talk about one of her favorite movies, high school popularity paradoxes, and how in love ARE these friends?
-
We expected to love the puppies. We were NOT expecting to covet all the fashion (Debbie Mazar is a VISION?!) in this movie! Is it a pretty silly & goofy & loosely plotted children's movie? Yes. But DANG something about these dogs and the over-the-top adult performances is incredibly charming. Guest Joyah Love Spangler, (actress/choreographer/director/dog owner) sums it up in a word: PUPPIES!
-
It was really hard to talk about anything other than the treehouse. We thought we loved this movie but really we just LOVED that treehouse, or to put it simply: "Look, I'm not an ostrich expert." It is a weird outlier for this podcast but both Celey & Nora were obsessed as kids and we just had to revisit this Disney flick from 1960. Spoiler: the animals and many humans are not treated...great.
-
We ALL watched this as kids and we have NO idea if kids today would like it at all? But we do know that watching as adults makes us feel...weird about gender roles and small small kids pretending to be adults. Comedian Renee Santos is back after almost 6 YEARS to reprise her role talking about Spanky, Alfalfa, and the whole gang! Find Renee on insta @ReneeSantosComedy & if you're in LA, get tickets for LezFest Sunday April 3rd! at Reneesantos.com or https://womenonaroll.com/lez-fest/
