Clarity & hope for parents in these anxious times with Dr Jenny Brown. This podcast features examples from the frontlines of parenting, plus discussions with parents and helpers considering how best to be a positive resource for their child’s wellbeing. It draws from research and Bowen family systems theory revealing that families do best when the parent focuses on managing themself and clarifying parenting principles rather than changing the child.

At The Psychology of Criminal and Antisocial Behaviour Podcast we do things a little differently. While other crime podcasts examine cases, we examine the “mechanics” behind criminal and antisocial behaviour. While cases will certainly be discussed, these will not be the central focus of our show. Rather than talking about what someone did, we will tell you why. Our audience is therefore anyone who is interested in a deep-dive into why criminals and victims do what they do.
So join our hosts, Criminologist Dr. Wayne Petherick and Clinical Psychologist Dr. Grant Sinnamon for our weekly episodes.

In this course, we will use the anthropological approach and methodology to understand witch-hunts and persecution. We start by looking at magic, witchcraft and sorcery and explaining the persistence of related beliefs and practices. As we will see the basic idea of witch persecution is that we have an image of a witch (or sorcerer) and then we pin it on someone. We analyze this image in greater detail. Pinning this image on someone is a process of accusation; we analyze among whom, why and how accusations occur. Finally, we look at some “witch-hunts”—including the Great Witch-hunt, the Salem Trials, and McCarthyism—in greater detail.

Systems change requires new ways of thinking and doing to create a thriving world. We live in a time of interconnected crises - climate change, rising inequality and rapid urbanisation are urgently challenging our present and future. In Australia there are already more than 122,000 people without a safe, secure place to call home, and a chronic shortage of affordable housing. Join me in conversation with experts in the field as we unpack the relationship between homelessness and our changing climate. Together, we tell stories of our connection to place and planet as home.
