Kevin McGahern joined us this week for a chat about everything from flying cars and curses to the Titanic and brussels sprouts. He took us back through his career to date explaining how he first got started in comedy and his roles in both Hardy Bucks and Republic of Telly.
Amid rumours that Terence will be on the next series of Dancing with the Stars, Kevin used his own experience on the show to teach us what you can learn from the costumes. And he even sings us his own festive song to round out this Christmas episode.

We begin with an unexpected encounter between Terence, Calvin and the Taoiseach, before we resume normal business.
There are more topics added to the banned list, much to Calvin’s disgust, and Terry breaches a previous banning order by hitting us with a fact about crows.
The prospect of being caught short by sudden and inexplicable nudity in Arnotts leads to two very different responses, and gives us another strange insight into the unique mind of Terence Power.
One listener offers us an unsettling proposition about a paranormal intruder that does a bit of housework, and Calvin gives us an update on his troubles with people peering in his windows (or so he claims) in the new gaff.
And there’s an emotional venting over “inter-generational vocabulary” and older generations exaggerating just how tough life was back in their day.

Nicola Hanney had beaten the odds and survived a terminal cancer diagnosis when she met Garda Paul Moody. At first, she thought it was her happy ever after, but soon his behaviour became extremely controlling and abusive. When she became pregnant, he only gained more power over her.
Then, the cancer came back. Nicola fought the cancer while dealing with threats, blackmail and abuse from Paul who felt his position as a Garda made him untouchable. She tells us where she found the strength and how she's been coping since escaping his coercive control.
Nicola's book Stronger: What Didn’t Kill Me, Made Me is available now in all good bookshops.
Please note: This episode contains in depth discussion of coercive control and abusive relationships, take care when listening. A discussion about Christmas dinner substitutions and traditions turns hearted as Terry makes possibly his most contentious claim yet on this podcast. And that’s long before he tells us he thinks The Spire is “in the way of O’Connell Street”.
There’s a lot of thought put into deciding what role would best suit cereal if it was served in restaurants.
We unlock a new fear – finding yourself in the dock in court and facing questions from the most renowned interrogator in the TB universe.
Calvin wonders if he has no worlds left to conquer – or places left to go on holiday anyway, and we wonder if the original hope for The Spire was that it would be Dublin’s answer to the Pyramids.
And there’s a call out for someone to raise the bar when it comes to questions for the bonus episodes.

Since watching The Deepest Breath, Terence, like many others, became obsessed with freediving. And while his attempts at holding his breath left him gasping for air after just a few short seconds, the fascination has never gone away.
For Claire Walsh, the fascination started before the documentary back in 2015 while on a trip across the world. She has since become the first person to represent Ireland at the Freediving World Championships in 2019.
After struggling with mental illness, freediving helped to teach her to clear her mind and focus on her breath. It also taught her a lot about fear, and bravery, something she explores more in her podcast Scared Shitless.
Claire told us about her journey to the World Championships, and life since then, including accepting where she is now and the impacts of long covid.

There’s a lot of thoughts on time this week – from the time spent listening to every moment of Talking Bollox ever put out (and what else you might have done with that time), to the choice between doing time or wearing the wrong shoes.
Terence admits he would probably have a hard time deciding to save the world if his personal reputation was going to take a big hit; and Calvin wants to put the mysterious powers of TB to good use.

This week we were joined by award-winning actor and playwright Thommas Kane Byrne & best friend and fellow actress Ericka Roe.
They discussed their journey from living in Dublin Inner City & Ballyfermot to making it on stage and screen in shows such as Kin and Dublin Murders.
Together they have launched their own production company Breadline aiming to make theatre more accessible to the working class.
Breadline is bringing its next show It’s Always Your Bleedin’ Own to Project Arts Centre this December. Looking past the riots and narratives that are sold to you about D1 - resilience meets humour and grit meets glamour. Tickets can be purchased here.

Chaos reigns as a new voice appears on the bonus episodes and a party game takes over proceedings. Terence has a very unfortunate moment of confusion around a horse show, and finds his lack of film knowledge catching up with him. He does learn something useful about one of history's most significant figures.
There's some questions, but not enough, and some attempts to remember any kind of useful life advice outside of Terry's views on the Leaving Cert.

Craig was one of our first guests when we started the podcast and we recorded with him in a salon - We've come a long way and Craig has been on his own journey leading up to his recent fight in the 3Arena.
Addiction and a life of crime seemed to be on the cards for Craig but boxing and the commitment the sport demands took him down a different path and changed his life for the better. He now uses his experience for the good in his role as a youth worker.
He told us about meeting Dana White, the fights he's hoping for in the new year and everything else he's looking forward to in the future.

We’re back. After a long hiatus, the bonus episodes return. To ease ourselves back into the swing of things, Terry opens up with a list of grievances he’s built up during his time away from the studio.
Calvin has his own list, of the growing number of examples of “The Talking Bollox Effect” being seen around the world.
We have some interesting facts about world altering coincidences, and potentially lethal sounds, and Terry accidentally wanders into heartbreak as he casts Kusi in the wrong Hollywood blockbuster.
Calvin has a dark vision for a potential gameshow format, and despite his best efforts Terence dreams up Saturday night TV entertainment that’s unavoidably crimey.

In a special episode of Talking Bollox the lads have teamed up with Science week 2024 for a chat about gene editing.
What exactly is it? What can it be used for? What are the future plans for it's use and are reports of a future of 'designer babies' true or false?
To answer these and many other questions the boys are joined by Annie Curtis, a Professor of Circadian Immunology at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences to brilliantly break it all down.

And Keith took us back to a sad time for Boyzone after the passing of Stephen Gately, and how the lads came together to grieve.

We’re pitting Dublin’s areas against each other in the ultimate game of Top Trumps.
Terence has made an overdue apology, and found himself (in an unrelated incident) surrounded by cowboy boots.
There’s yet more censorship, as crisps join animals on the banned list, even as the banned list is breached.
We hear speculation about strange superstitions, Calvin throws a tantrum, and Terry imagines being thrown from an upstairs window while stuck to a sofa.
