Episode #1061
Joined today by a mainstay on the show since the very beginning, the great David Francey, who returns to Winnipeg next Saturday after a long absence! We had a great chat this week, and I took the opportunity to play a bunch of Francey classics, some covers of his songs, songs by others that he's appeared on, and more! We also previewed another big show coming up this week and heard a bunch of new music!

New music, including some new covers and one that sounds a lot like a cover but isn't (intentionally), and we talk about a Kickstarter campaign worthy of your support and a big release concert coming up on Friday by talking with Suzie Ungerleider and Keri Latimer, longtime friends and collaborators!

Episode #1059
Pre-recorded just hours after I learned that we'd lost a valuable member of the Manitoba music community, multi-instrumentalist Don Zueff. Don is primarily known these days for his work with the mighty D. Rangers, but he's had a long career and lasting impact. He dropped by the UMFM studio in 2014 playing with Jay Aymar, so it seemed like a good idea to listen back to that one and play just a few highlights from Don's career. Following that, we preview an exciting upcoming local show, spin some new music, parlez some francais, and talk about the big JP Hoe show this weekend. Today's 4:00 feature focuses on another fabulous fiddle player, the outstanding Kendel Carson, who has been a mainstay in Canadian music for years. She'll be back in town next weekend alongside Adam Baldwin.

Episode #1058
Thanksgiving weekend is always a great time to sit around and ponder your many blessings and privileges, but it's even better if you can share some love and appreciation with others who bring good things to your life. This episode is my small effort to show a little bit of gratitude for some of the many people that I appreciate and love. Today, we've got one exciting upcoming show to preview, but most of the show is songs by and for people that I want to thank for being part of my life.
