  • From a small village in the Eastern Cape to leading youngsters in the USA, artist and artist manager Thando Mtyhobile shares his inspiring story with us in this episode. Pursuing a career in music isn't an easy one - and as Thando points out, you need to respect the industry, build strong relationships, and keep focus!

    Thando spent most of his life in Cape Town and started singing at an early age back in 1992. In 1999 Thando formed Isicathamiya group called, Peace Lovers Brothers. The Peace lovers Brothers performed in many different places in the Western Cape spreading love and peace with their Lady Smith Black Mambazo-influenced music.

    2005 Thando Mtyhobile released his debut album titled Thando’s Introduction in it he worked with producer Mario Cronje and producer Helmut Meijer. The album was recorded at the University of Stellenbosch and it was distributed by Bowline distributors.

    In 2006 Thando started his own record label called Sisonke Music Entertainment which under it he also helps other up a and coming artists to find their feet in the music industry.

    Thando has garnered many accolades over the years, and among them also Best IsiXhosa album nominee Southern African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA - 2018). Thando is still actively performing and pursuing a career in music.
