In a dead period on the court for the basketball teams, the news off the court has been aplenty. The biggest item of not only the week but one of the biggest news items of the year came this when Fred Glass announced he'd be stepping down as athletic director. Jacob and Auston discuss his legacy, how much the men's basketball team's struggles may weigh that down and his role in elevating multiple non-revenue sports.
Then, the two move onto the departure of Kalen DeBoer and where the Indiana football team goes from there. With multiple in-house candidates potentially worthy of promotion and many names expected to be linked to the job out-of-house, there will be plenty of candidates available for an upstart Indiana team.
In the lastly off-court news, Auston gives a detailed look at the recruiting class Tom Allen locked up during National Signing Day. While the class may not have the star power of years before, it is a deep class that has promise.
Jacob and Auston then wrap it up by talking about the men's and women's basketball teams. In the men's side, the Hoosiers' up-and-down performances leave lots of questions to be answered.. On the women's side, an unannounced extension for Teri Moren leaked out on Wednesday, which serves as just another huge positive in a great season.

For the first time in the program's history, Indiana will be played in a Florida bowl game. That was a special enough achievement to warrant a special edition of The Podcast Was Good.

After a week off for the holidays, Jacob and Auston return with tons of talk about tons of success at Indiana. First, they start off by discussing a very memorable Old Oaken Bucket game, touching on the play of Peyton Ramsey, Sampson James, Whop Philyor and Tiawan Mullen.
The two also look at the bowl projections, where Indiana might end up and who the fanbase should be rooting for heading into the conference championship games.
Then the two talk about the men's basketball team at length for the first team this season after one of the biggest non-conference wins for Archie Miller. Both Devonte Green and Trayce Jackson-Davis had huge games in the win, the latter scoring a career-high in points.
The two then discuss the women's basketball team, who capped off an incredible week of games with a road win at Miami. Under Teri Moren, the Hoosiers continue to piece together the best season in program history.
They wrap up by discussing the unceremonious end of the men's soccer season in the NCAA tournament and what the future holds for the Hoosiers.

While Indiana football suffered another loss to a top-25 opponent, the tides are turning for the Hoosier football program. Auston and Jacob break down a loss to Penn State in which Indiana outplayed a top-25 Big Ten opponent on the road but shot itself in the foot with a host of mistakes in every facet.
Auston gives his experience in Beaver Stadium before the two talk about the game, the mistakes, the missed opportunities and why all of that has both of them optimistic about what the immediate future holds for Indiana. Yet again, the two praise Peyton Ramsey as he continues to shed every narrative about him while also giving kudos to David Ellis and Ty Fryfogle.
Then, they turned their attention to Michigan and a golden opportunity. With the Wolverines down this season, coming off one rivalry game and on the heels of another, Indiana has its best chance in years at upsetting Michigan. The two talk about the Wolverine team, Shea Patterson and how the sides match-up before debating whether Whop Philyor's availability is necessary to pull off an upset.
After breaking down everything Indiana football, Jacob talks about the two stressful Big Ten Tournament games that the Hoosiers won over Maryland and Michigan to capture the program's 10th double. A historic season for Indiana football became even more when the Hoosiers entered the top 25 polls for the first time since 1994.. While the College Football Playoff committee may not be in on the #9WINDIANA movement, Auston and Jacob are firmly on board as they bring another episode of The Podcast Was Good.
After reveling in the fact that the Hoosiers are ranked, Jacob breaks down the bowl outlook and some of the current projections. Indiana currently is slated most likely to go to the Gator Bowl but an upset in the coming weeks over Penn State or Michigan would shake things up..

The Nittany Lions are coming off an upset on the road themselves against Minnesota but are still one of the best teams in the conference. Offensively, Penn State has two dynamic weapons and a young, improving quarterback that has wreaked havoc this year. Defensively, Penn State has a top-10 unit but also was torn apart last week by the Gophers, offering a blueprint for a Hoosier upset.
Lastly, the duo looks at the huge win from the women's basketball team, acknowledge the men's team's existence and preview the semi-final match-up against Maryland for the men's soccer team in the Big Ten Tournament.

Indiana dismantled Northwestern on Saturday in convincing fashion for the seventh win of the season and, yet, the biggest news of the week is the loss of Michael Penix. After a dazzling sophomore season, Penix underwent season-ending surgery this week, cutting short an exciting sophomore season.

In one of the best performances in many years for Indiana, the Hoosiers secured bowl eligibility behind a career-defining game from Peyton Ramsey. The backup quarterback had the best game of his time in Bloomington and, as a result, Indiana hung on for a memorable road win over Nebraska last Saturday.
Auston and Jacob sit down to talk about one of the biggest wins in two decades for the Hoosiers. After discussing Ramsey, the two look at what is quickly becoming one of the best seasons in program's history for wide receiver Whop Philyor. The two then break down the increase in depth from the Hoosiers and the role that is playing.
The duo finish breaking down the Indiana game by looking at what impact this win will have on the program moving forward. To end the recap, the two laugh at Scott Frost, who got what he and the program asked for.

The Indiana football Hoosiers are one game away from six wins and bowl eligibility after a big win on the road against Maryland. In this week's episode of The Podcast Was Good, Jacob is by himself and starts off by discussing takeaways from the that win over the Terrapins.

In a highly-anticipated showdown with rival Kentucky, the Indiana men's soccer team drew 0-0 in double overtime. The performance had both positives and negatives on the night as the offense struggled but the defense held firm to salvage the draw.

Indiana repeated a performance seen so many times in recent years, falling to Michigan State in heartbreaking fashion after battling the Spartans blow for blow the entire second half. The Indiana football team routed UConn last week to get back on track after the blowout against Ohio State. Peyton Ramsey looked like a real quarterback for a week, the running game got back on track and the defense righted some of its wrongs from previous weeks.
However, the Hoosiers now move headfirst into Big Ten play against Michigan State this week. The Podcast Was Good is back and here to stay! Jacob and Auston bring the first episode of the rebirth of the podcast at one of the worst times possible. Indiana laid a giant egg against Ohio State at home with hardly any positives to take away.
Peyton Ramsey continues to look bad but was done no favors by Indiana’s continued struggles on the offensive line. With a run game that produced less than two yards per carry and a passing game that struggled, Indiana’s offense was non-existent. Paired with a defense that continues missing tackles at an alarming rate and little went right for the Hoosiers.
Jacob and Auston discuss just how much you take away from a game against the current version of Ohio State, what the long-term concerns are for Indiana and how they pick up the pieces from here.
